So I had windows 10 but it was so slow and my laptop is originally windows 7 but got windows 10 for free when it first game out free and I honestly liked windows 7 more so I found a windows 7 home premium install disk and just installed it since there was no other way I could revert as it's way over a month and I couldnt don a clean reset only just a, "delete everything but still reinstall windows 10" reset. Anyways, now I'm sitting here with windows 7 home premium 64-bit installed and I've googled and googled and cannot get connected to the internet and apparently like 5 drivers or something are outdated or messed up and idk how to fix it and I cant troubleshoot because it just leads me to having to ask online for help but I dont have internet on my laptop so here I am. Please someone tell me what to do and sorry for the rant, I've been awake for like 12 hours just searching and trying to fix it..

Go to the systems manufacturer to get proper drives the drives. You will have to start with the Chipset Driver then some systems and hardware require that drivers be installed in a certain order. With windows 7 no longer being supported by Microsoft any time you go online you are risking you identity and or data being stolen, hacked, infected ETC... You could try to preform a clean install of Windows 10. Having leftover Windows 7 information could be the reason that you are having said issues. Could also be a configuration issue someplace that a fresh install may help with. https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10 so you can download the install for windows 10 should you decide to go that way.

Thank you so much, I'll definitely switch to windows 10 if I have to but is it possible for me to still switch to windows 8 or 9 or is it pointless? I tried to play Minecraft recently but it always kept saying that my driver didn't support opengl and I updated and reset and everything and people suggested I switch back to windows 7 since its the original windows for my laptop and it would be faster/better. Is this true? If so, should I switch to 8 or 9 or just go to 10. I'm not really a big computer person lol so I'm kinda lost about this stuff.

So I made a post before talking about my laptop here https://pchelpforum.net/t/please-help.66898/ (so I dont have to retype and make this post extra, extra long). Basically, in my device manager I have, Ethernet controller, network controller, PCI Simple communications controller, SM Bus controller, universal serial bus controller which all have exclamation marks next to them, they all also have no driver details or any manufacturer or ANY info because I have none of them as when I switched to windows 10 for a long time, all my windows 7 old files and everything got deleted. I've tried everything and dont have another PC to transfer files so I need to use this windows 7 laptop to do it but I have no internet connection to it and I've tried EVERY solution but since I got no drivers, it ain't helping. I just need help manually finding it as it says I can pick one from a list from my pc, which is literally every driver for every manufacturer of computers. PCI/VEN_8086&DEV_008A&SUBSYS_53258086&REV_34 that is the info I was told I would need to copy to find it but I've looked and looked and I just need a name from the list, my computer properties..Intel(R) Core (TM) i5-2430M CPU @ 2.40GHz, 32-bit operating system (laptop is 64 but I used a windows 7 disk to reinstall and ****ed it up) it's also windows 7 home premium from the install disk I used. Sorry for the long post, I know jack about computers and just need a temporary fix so I can reinstall drivers or at least reinstall windows 10 or something, otherwise I'm going to just burn this computer as it's useless and just making me so frustrated, thanks..

do you need any further assistance?
Yeah, sorry I didn't want to bombard you with a long reply so I ended up making another post, idk what my thought process is.. I know you suggested switching to 10 but I need internet and for that I need to update my driver but for that i need one in the first place and explained what i was seeing but like i said I'm a dum dum with this stuff so I'm gonna assume that I'll have to go out and buy a disk or something..

So this is from me searching "system information" figured it was easier than typing and if you needed any other info, let me know if I'm missing something..

Go to the Dell website put in you system information and download the drovers from there.

On the bottom find the Dell Service Tag Number.

Select the show downloads for this PC and enter the Service Tag Number this way it will only list the drivers for that system.

How to Install Dell Drivers in the Correct Order

I'll try that, thank you so much.

not a problem any time
Just a quick question, on the bottom of my laptop, I couldnt find the service key so I removed this black strip that had no writing or numbers on either side and it just says service key written on my laptop but no key, I even removed the COA label underneath it, after taking a picture of it for info, and nothing so I'm a bit confused, done typed all the letters and numbers on the labels..

can you access the BIOS?

If yes the service tag can be listed there?

So it worked and I'm looking at 4 drivers now. I couldnt put a keyword as none showed up and the filters are set to all because of the same thing and the operating system is set to windoes 7, 64-bit as they dont have a 32 bit, is that okay? And if so, should I just try and download all 4, and the only way I can
transfer is maybe by phone but I dont think it's that simple but idk.

Some driver are made for both 32 and 64 bit.

You will have to check to see which ones are under Driver Details.
Aaand I'm back..I was able to get a usb and a connector for my phone to transfer the files..so close to fixing....but then another problem popped up. My laptop cant detect the usb, I checked disk management, nothing, device managers, nothing. All 2 out of 3 of the ports work and I know this because before I reset my pc to windows 7, I used a mouse with a chip and it was in the same slot I'm using now..any ideas??

Use another computer and download the files.

transfer the files using a USB Drive to the other computer.
Sorry, what I meant by usb is a usb drive, I bought a flash drive and used my phone to transfer the files to the drive so I have the files and everything but my laptop wont detect it so I can download any of the files. I also dont have another laptop which is why I'm going through such annoying lengths to fix it.

And if at any point you get tired of me, just let me know lol, I know it must be frustrating having to help me solve one problem after another lol
