Hi!

We recently had a power outage at our home. After that I tried to turn on my pc and the cpu fan, all the other system fans and the gpu started spinning but my monitor did not receive any signal and my mouse and keyboard didn't light up. I also had the same issue a few days prior where my pc also didn't have power for a short period of time.

I already tried a lot of different things to resolve this issue: Resetting the bios, reseating and changing the cmos battery, boot cycling the system, trying to run the system with the integrated graphics on the mainboard, testing every single ram module on every single slot, shortening the 1. and 6. pin of the backup bios to force it to work etc...

I personally think its either my motherboard or my psu but please let me know if you have any other ideas on how I can fix it or atleast narrow down the issue.

My specs are:

Mainboard: Gigabyte Aorus b450m
Cpu: Ryzen 5 3600
Gpu: MSI Gtx 1660 Super
Psu: Be quiet straight power 11 650W
Ram: Corsair Vengeance Pro 2x8GB 3200MHz
SSD: Kingston A5400 480GB
Monitor: MSI Optix G271

Hello

Did the power outrage create a power surge prior of the power going out / flicker on and off several times ?

g'day Julian and welcome to the forums. :)

the fact this happened prior to the power outage would indicate that event wasn't the main cause, but may have expediated the demise of some hardware, probably the power supply.
if there was a power surge, and sometimes you wouldn't know, there could be a few potential issues.
all depends where the surge come in. for example, I've seen plenty come in via the ethernet port because the modem got fried.

so, getting your hands on another PSU would be the logical starting point. either Frankenstein one from another rig, or neighbour, friend or family member.

Yeah I'll get my hands on a different one.

just getting any for the time being to test the theory would be good.
but if are are thinking of getting a new one straight away, or a new one down the track, here is my standard reply to that;

Any power supply unit certified 80+ Gold (or better) and offering at least a 7 year warranty (preferably 10), and you can’t go wrong.

For example, ThermalTake ToughPower GF1 or GF3 ranges, Cooler Master, Antec, Corsair RM series.
