When connecting my USB web camera (logitech c920) to my PC, the screen will instantly freeze, shortly followed by a BSOD and KERNEL_MODE_HEAP_CORRUPTION error message appearing. I am unsure of what caused the problem to happen, but I think it happened after i reset my PC a while ago.

The web camera works fine on other devices. I have tried resetting my PC, but it did not fix the issue. In the device manager there is no driver for any web camera, I have also looked under hidden devices. I have tried connecting my webcam using different usb-ports. Other USB-devices (kindle, CD-room, headset...) works fine. I have tried updating my graphics driver and motherboard BIOS. The BSOD have not appeared at times other than when connecting my web camera.

My PC is a custom build. The motherboard is x99a raider (ms-7885) and the gpu is NVADA geforce GTX 1070.

These are my dump files from trying (and failing) to fix the problem today: https://ufile.io/e2sk50r1

I have tried to update the web camera, but so far I have not managed to do it, since if I connect my web camera my PC instantly crashes.

Have you tried another USB port?
Have you installed the Logitech software like GHub? https://download01.logi.com/web/ftp/pub/techsupport/gaming/lghub_installer.exe
Is Windows fully up to date?
Are the PC’s drivers updated?
Try:
Right click on start & choose powershell with admin & enter:
SFC /SCANNOW
DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /StartComponentCleanup
DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

Thx for the suggestions!

Have you tried another USB port?
- yes, several different, also USB ports that work for other devices.

- I have installed it, but I don't see any way to fix drivers

- Yes

- Yes

I ran the lines in PowerShell and waited for the loading to finish. It did not fix the problem.

I am currently planning to do a clean install of windows, just need to wait until tomorrow as I need to borrow a memory stick. Do you think this will work, or have any other ideas?

You could try an in-place repair: Download the media creation tool, run this & choose to upgrade now.
I believe GHub is for settings, I thought there may be something there which required changing.

Great, thx for the additional suggestion! I will get get back to you tomorrow or Thursday after I have tried to upgrade/clean install if it does not work.

Solved!
I managed to fix the problem today. By using safe mode, the drivers showed up in device manager, which allowed me to update them from the device manager. Probably something I should have thought of before. Really appreciate your help anyway, I have struggled with the problem for way too long!
