All connections are good. The DVD drive does show in the BIOS. I will try connecting the HD to the DVD cables and see what happens. I also tried connecting an external HD via USB and it did work. I hope resetting the BIOS works.Yes

When you boot linux from the USB drive does it see the DVD drives?
Try connecting the HDD to that SATA cable.
How do I find that? I reset the BIOS and it now shows the HD.Connect the hard drive to the sata port labelled 0
I put a 500gb HD in it and I put Ubuntu on it. I don't know much about Linux.Now which Operating System are you wanting to install?

What size is the HDD?
How old is that HDD and have you tested it to make sure that there are no issues with it?
Honestly would not put Linux on it if you are going to sell it.
