My computer has been crashing randomly for months and I've tried a lot of things to try and fix it. The computer, somewhat randomly, will turn off and turn back on shortly after. This happens most frequently when gaming, but inconsistently at that. I have rarely ever had any problems running GTA V with several graphics enhancing mods installed, but when I play a game which theoretically should not be as intense such as Rimworld, I get much much more frequent crashing. Rimworld particularly exacerbates the problem, crashing the PC several times in a single night.
I've eliminated overheating as a possible cause. My computer, while it does occasionally get hot, does not seem to ever crash because of the heat.
I'm thinking it could be a memory issue, since Rimworld may be more heavy on memory than a game like GTA, but I don't know I would diagnose or fix this problem. I've run a RAM testing program before and it didn't come up with any errors. I also don't want to go the nuclear option and just go buy entirely new RAM sticks without knowing for sure if it's RAM that is causing the problem.
Any advice, help, etc greatly appreciated. Thank you.
