Good day people.

Recently I got a Lenovo Legion Y530 15ICH from a friend, he's not using it anymore, he gave it to me with a clean Windows 11 install so I started with the drivers for it. The problem is that the system is taking the Intel Graphics 630 instead of the GTX 1050 and I don't know why o how to change it.

The GTX 1050 is detected with nVidia Control Panel, nVidia GeForce Expierence and even Windows Device Manager, drivers up to date.

How can I use the 1050 properly? Thanks
 
So other can assist let get a speccy report.

Do not forget to post the make and model of the PSU if this is a desktop.

Download then run Speccy (free) and post the resultant url for us, details here, this will provide us with information about your computer hardware + any software that you have installed that may explain the present issue/s.

To publish a Speccy profile to the Web:

In Speccy, click File, and then click Publish Snapshot.

In the Publish Snapshot dialog box, click Yes to enable Speccy to proceed.

Speccy publishes the profile and displays a second Publish Snapshot. You can open the URL in your default browser, copy it to the clipboard, or close the dialog box.
 
As long as the drivers were installed in the proper order starting with the chipset, motherboard, then the rest it should switch form the Intel to the NVidia automatically.

You will also have to have the system attached to power and the power setting set to High and not Balanced.
 
There should be settings for graphics card under Windows settings for choosing the default graphics, usually the option ‘Let Windows decide’ is selected but you can manually change this for individual apps/programs.
nVidia Control Panel has a similar option.
There may also be a setting under the BIOS for changing the default card permanently.

Ok. I downgraded to Win 10 because 90% of drivers are not even Win 11 compatible.

Every official driver installed again but the graphics card problem persist, maybe is only a matter of choosing depending on the software used. Gonna try that later this day.

On the other hand... the touchpad is not responding since win 11. It was fine the day it arrived but now is not even on device manager.

Windows is no longer giving me more updates and there is no touchpad driver for this laptop. I don't know what to do.

From where and how was the media created?

You did delete the partitions and drive completely prior to install and allow it install to automatically make changes.

You did install the chipsets, motherboard and the other drivers in the proper order?

Did you get the correct drivers for that system?

Did they ever create the recovery software and if they still had it can you get it to recover the system back to factory?

Which you can get from Lenovo.
 
Is there a new Touchpad entry under Settings>Devices?
The newer Elan/Synaptics driver seems to break the touchpad settings so that you cannot turn the touchpad on/off or use various scroll options.

Try installing the Microsoft precision touchpad driver:

If the touchpad isn’t showing under device manager then check further under View>Show hidden devices, is there any entry showing a yellow exclamation mark?

The OS is from Microsoft Oficial website, I created a USB boot device.

I deleted every partition.

I think I installed evry driver in order, like you said before.

The drivers are from Lenovo website and Microsoft Update.


I don't have a recovery software to do that, I will speak with Lenovo for that, it might help a lot.

There is no Touchpad entry anywhere.

Device manager hidden option is not showing anything new.

The driver does nothing, Synaptics or ELAN. Still dead.

Is there any mouse connected? The touchpad should show in any case if there is.

If there’s no touchpad under Mouse or pointing devices within device manager or device manager>view>show hidden devices then I suspect the touchpad has failed.

I'm note using any software to install updates. Everything Is from Lenovo AND Windows Updates.

So... I got the recovery USB from Lenovo to restore it to factory defaults. Installed everything again and is not working.
