I just reinstalled windows in the end and it's now working with the new ram....Do you have the Windows 10 install media so you can perform a repair?

Should be fine actually got most back just doesn't seem to have my saved passwords etc in Firefox ???? oh well I'll be doing alot of resetting then...Unfortunately, when you perform a repair install some of the registry entries get reset and some of the up-to-date files that the previously installed programs need get over written.
as far as the old programs a simple reinstall should fix that.
