I've built it a few months ago and theoretically it works fine, but I've encountered some issues with it and I'm worrying that it might stop working soon (I've had bad luck with laptops before and maybe thats why). I'm worried to the point that I don't use it often, even tho I should bcs I need to find an internship till July - I study CS and I was doing just enough to not fail my classes for the last couple of months.

Sometimes Linux VMs display some artifacts while booting.

I've encountered glitching particles and disappearing textures in Space Marine 2, but the last update fixed it.

Cyberpunk works horrible on it (FPS are fine, but lighting and shadows are glitching pretty often). I hope it will fix itself after the next update like the Space Marine.

3DMark's FMSIScan.exe always crashes (0xc0000005 exception in event log), sometimes causing incomplete monitoring data. It occurs with another error in the event log - Windows cannot load the extensible counter DLL "C:\WINDOWS\system32\sysmain.dll" The specified module could not be found (only appears when running 3DMark)

Few games/apps cause 0xc0000005 exception in the event log (3DMark, WH Rogue Trader, Cyberpunk), but it doesnt seem to cause anything bad (except 3DMark). Afaik I'm not the only one having issues like these with these apps.

RE4, AC Valhalla, Rust and The Witcher 3 work properly.

I've tried everything - reinstalling drivers and windows, updating BIOS, checking RAM, CPU, SSDs and GPU health with various programs (OCCT, Furmark, Memtest, Cinebench, dxdiag, HWInfo, GPU-Z, CrystalDiskMark) and I couldn't find the cause. Am I overreacting?

Specs:

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 7600

GPU: XFX Radeon RX 6750 XT Core Gaming 12GB

MOBO: ASRock B650M PRO RS WIFI (BIOS 3.16)

RAM: Patriot Viper Venom 32GB 6000MHz (working at 5600, because my PC doesnt boot at 6000)

SSD: Lexar NM790 1TB

PSU: be quiet! Pure Power 11 700W

System: Win 11 Pro

The RAM is not appropriate for your CPU, AMD state here up to 5200MHz/MT/s and if you have EXPO/XMP enabled the RAM will get auto OCd past what the CPU can handle and the PC will become unstable.

As a starting point go into the BIOS and disable XMP.

You should also make sure that the Windows Power Plan is set to Balanced and not High Performance or Ryzen Balanced.

You have a high end GPU but only a mid range PSU that does not meet the Recommendations of XFX, this is a must for gaming rigs.

XFX specs here

PSU rating – Tier B • Mid-range

The errors occur even when the EXPO is disabled. But they only appear in the event log and dont seem to cause anything bad.

Is the using the reccomended PSU really that important? I did my research and afaik my PSU should be good enough.

I don't want to have to RMA yet another PC :/.

Can I ask that you do not quote every reply as we have to read the full post to make sure nothing gets missed,, thanks.

So what about all the issues you mentioned in your OP, Windows throws up errors in event viewer all the time and unless marked as critical they can most often be ignored, unlike all the other stuff you said you had going on.

We can only comment on the information that you provide and for all we know your issues may be down to how the PC has been set up, you mention Linux and Windows in your OP and that suggests that you could be dual booting.

Something to keep in mind, it is the GPU manufacturer that is expected to honour any warranty should the card fail because it was underpowered, not a PSU calculator or some faceless person on the internet that says that it is ok to ignore any minimum PSU requirements specified by the GPU manufacturer.

GPU manufacturer are not legally obliged to and nor will they replace a product or pay a refund for damage caused by the end user.

Your PSUs output meets the minimum required but the quality is not there and as mentioned for gaming rigs you always follow the Recommended power requirements.

Bottom line, you can stick with the PSU but if you don`t take onboard what you have been advised regarding the incorrect spec of RAM then there is little to no point in me chiming in again.

But the manufacturers reccomended minimum is 650W and I have a 700W PSU. The GPU has no issues in reaching max clock speeds and the 200W power limit.

I run linux in VMware not in dual boot with windows.

So you're saying that I should just buy a new RAM kit? Memtest and OCCT didn't find any issues with my current one, both while running it at 4800 and 5600.

Is there anything else I can try?
