Via explorer is the easy way as you have done
Myphoneexplorer which I linked above is also good for photos, contacts text messages etc.

When you open Onedrive are you going via the internet?
When I connect the phone to the pc with a cable, OneDrive automatically pops up. I just click on click "cancel" in the box that says "Import items" and then I click on the "X" at the top right. After that I go to toolbar to find "Galaxy S22"!

When you open Onedrive are you going via the internet?
This was asked back on disconnecting the computer.
The instructions and pics I gave in post #36 was via logging into onedrive via the internet

I am not sure what you mean when you say : "When you open Onedrive are you going via the internet?"

When I connect my phone to my pc with a cable, OneDrive pops up whether or not I am connected to the internet. Here are some pix of what I see when OneDrive opens. It does not look like what you have attached to post #36. I don't know if it makes any difference or not, but I have windows 10 and that is supposed to have OneDrive installed with windows 10 and everyone says that it cannot be uninstalled!!

In settings there is a section called "Sources" and you can add a folder where photos will import to that folder. I have deleted all the folders/folder. I figure that OneDrive can't import photos to anywhere if there are not any folder added?!
