Hello,

I found my outdated Rosetta Stone CDs. It comes with multiple disks, one to install the program and the others for the specific language you are trying to use in the program. Unfortunately, my old laptop is no longer functional and my new laptop does not come with a CD ROM, [64-bit, Windows 10 Home]. I purchased an External ODD/HDD Device that plugs into my USB and I am able to use it as such. However, I tried to run get my Rosetta Stone software to work, but it just tries to read the CD then eventually ejects it. I was told this is no longer supported by the company as it is outdated, but it was mentioned to me that it is a 32-bit program. I went through and enabled ISS in order to enable 32-bit applications, but that did not seem to resolve the external devices' inability to read the CD. It is interesting because the other CDs with the languages on them I am able to access the folder on the disks through this external drive. Does anyone know a way to get this external ODD/HDD device to read my older CD to get the program installed? Help, please! Thanks in advance~

Kindest regards,
J

while not helping you get the CD's working, but have you considered doing it all online, via their website.
it's $8/month if getting a year subscription to a certain language.
might be a stress-free alternative! :)

Are the CDs genuine or home burned/copies?
Try moving all the files from the CD to the PC. Ensure show hidden files is set to show.
Then run the setup.

They are genuine copies.

Unfortunately, since the program CD does not read, it does not allow me to "open" anything under My PC. I'm not sure that copying over the other files from the language CDs would have any difference when I put the program CD in since it does not read.

Thank you for the alternative. I have considered it, but since I already spent the money, I'd hate to just throw them away and at least try to get them working. :)

All,

I truly appreciate your input. I found that I still have an account online and they provided a d/l for the application since I registered my previous purchase. No extra help needed. Thank you all! Be well.

Kindest regards,
J
