I've read multiple threads from Googling and have tried almost everything. My pc has occasionally bsod randomly but it has always fixed itself.

Windows had an update so I let it restart and now it keeps giving me this error and will bsod. I can't get to the desktop. I can only get into trouble shooting options, command prompt and bios.

The following options results in errors or bsod:

Startup repair( says it can't repair the pc)

Start in safe mode(with or without networking)

Disable driver signature enforcement

System restore

Uninstall updates(quality or feature)

I can't even reset my pc(says there was a problem resetting pc. No changes made.)

I've turned off fast boot for now as well as I read that can sometimes complicate things.

Through the command prompt I have tried several things including:

Sfc /scannow (it says verification 100% then windows resource protection could not perform the requested operation.)

bcdedit /set nointegritychecks on (apparently to Disable driver signature. Still gave me bsod when I restart)

dism /image:C:\ /cleanup-image /revertpendingactions (gives me error 0x800f082f)

I don't have a cd drive on this pc, but I have a USB plugged in with windows 10 freshly downloaded from the original site, but can't figure out how to reinstall windows. I've tried changing the boot order in ‘msi click bios 5’ so USB key is #1 but they all lead to bsod.

Currently my fixed boot order priorities are

#1 uefi USB key.

#2 uefi USB cd/dvd.

#3 uefi USB hard disk.

#4 uefi USB floppy.

#5 uefi hard disk.

#6 uefi cd/dvd.

#7 uefi network.

I've tried changing all the USB options to #1 but they all bsod.

I'm totally lost on what to do.

Any help is much appreciated!!

From here can you access Advanced Startup Options and choose Use a device

Checks the BIOS and see if the one-time boot to device is on and see if that helps. Usually is the F12 key yours may be different and should be shown where is needed is activated.

Is there any personal files that you would like?

Like you stated that you can access dos prompt.

Last resort would be use the Diskpart command and wipe the drive then it should boot to the USB to reinstall Windows 10.

When it first happened I had "use a device" as an option and I tried all of them including the USB option. All options led to bsod. Now it's not even giving me a use a device option. Could something I have done in bios or command prompt have changed something so I don't get this option? I also think my USB thumb stick might be faulty so I have another one on order that should arrive early today so I'll try again when it gets here.

Also, when I hit f12 in bios it says no USB device is found even when mine is plugged in which is why I think it's faulty.

Not sure where you stand technologize wise so if something gets stated PLESE ASK do not guess or look up and end up getting the improper information.

Could be if you have another USB drive and a reliable system use the media creation too and create new one.

What size is the USB drive that you are using?
Have found the anything smaller that 16 GB has never worked correctly and even sometime 32 GB.

If you can access the BIOS and reset back to factory and then see if setting the Boot One and use the whatever key and or key combination to get that.

Might also try clearing the CMOS and then access the BIOS and while there makes sure the Time and Date are reading correctly. Sometimes when clearing the CMOS have seen this happen.

Yes, anything that you do can and will make changes that can help and or hinder getting results. Just because something worked for one does not always mean it will work for you situation.

Yes, anything that you do can and will make changes that can help and or hinder getting results. Just because something worked for one does not always mean it will work for you situation.

Still getting bsod. I'm now getting "usb, partition 1" in bios boot options and in 'use a device' in the trouble shooting options but still no luck. It bsod as soon as it restarts.
I'm also perfectly ok with wiping the entire pc if need be, but all of the reset options in trouble shoot leads to errors or bsod.

This new usb is a SanDisk 128gb 3.0. I reformatted it so it's fat32 and set it to active partition through diskpart commands. I downloaded the media creation tool windows 10 through the Microsoft site. I have two 3.0 usb ports and two 2.0 usb ports on the front of my pc.ive tried both 3.0 ports. In bios under usb port control it shows a ton of usb ports, nine 3.0 ports and 12 2.0 ports all enabled which seems weird.

I could only find "auto clr_cmos" in bios using the search function, but nothing different happened when I enabled it and tried to boot via USB. Theres only a flash bios button on the back of the pc and I didn't have any luck finding a "clear cmos" inside the pc on the mother board. Bios shows the correct time and date. I reset bios to "optimized defaults."
These are the pc specs if it makes any difference. The only thing that has changed is the rgb liquid cooling system cause it pooped out after a year but the temps have been great since I changed it.

Make sure that you have also download the PROPER and CORRECT drivers including the Chipset for the system.

Use a USB 2.0 in the back of the system and see if that makes a difference.

Were you ever able to find the one-time boot in the BIOS and it corresponding key action?

Have you check the Debug Leds?

Have you referred to the Manual for booting to the Installing OS, Drivers & MSI Center on page 24.

One you are booted from the USB access the Command Prompt and type the following.

Knowledge Base | Buffalo Americas

After step 7 type exit then exit the command prompt and attempt the install again.

Sometimes only having the drive that you are planning to install windows on attached and other drives disconnected prevents any issues with the cleaning of the drive and install of windows.

Holy gosh it finally worked! All I did was re-download windows 10 to the usb for the third time and restart pc. The last time I might have reformatted the USB to fat32 when the copy of windows 10 was already on it and maybe that messed it up? I'm not sure it's all a blur now.

I've been trying to fix this for over a week now thanks so much for all your help!
