I know Mate it's a shocker o_O I totally agree with you on the Maidens being cheaper! :D this is why I'm trying to get it down. I have changed a few things around in the house before this bill lighting and fittings and this is a bit cheaper than my last bill @ $1117.15  next power killer to replace is my ancient split system!

These water heaters work relatively well. How they work is that like an air conditioner, the refrigerant in the unit absorbs the heat from the room and instead of dumping it outside it dumps the heat into the water. To better understand look up the refrigerant cycle of an air conditioner or better yet a heat pump which is basically what the unit on top of the water heater is. Better still this short video may help.

Got my next bill today  it's $954.47  it's a bit more than last bill. But we have had an extra person at home the last 3 months o_O, So I figure I'm saving power but idk how much yet.....sorry Guy's

Hi Matt, did you check to see if your supply costs were the same as last time, Every time we get a bill up here the kilowatt hour charge goes up so you gotta make sure you compare apples with apples. Our last quarterly bill I paid last week was $458.00, we are all electric, but didnt use the ducted a/c all that much in the last quarter as the start of the quarter was at the end of the heat and it's been fairly mild of late. The way your state government is closing power stations we will all be in the dark soon:whistle:

Hi Mate :) I did ask the electricity company that exact question, they said about 400KW less than last year, so I'm using less, with more people in the house . So I argued with them that I'm paying to much for my power and I pay on time all the time, and said my brother is on a better rate. My next 12 months power will discounted by 35% for paying on time instead of 23%. So I guess my next bill will be much better.
