Hi!

I need help fixing my pc. It is an intel i5-8600k with an gtx 1080 graphicscard and this settup has worked flawless for a long time up until now.

Problems:
- Usually high process usage ingame, but also regular tasks like opening google.
- Low FPS in a majority of games, usually between 70-80 compaired to a solid 144+ fps before.
- In whole a very unsmooth experience, especially compaired to before.
- Games like battlefield shows warnings signs like package loss, Latency variation and low fps.

I feel like I've really tried everything. Reseting Windows, Hardware checkup etc... If you have any clue of what this could be, anything would help.

Hi @PlzGivMonej and welcome to PCHF :)

We need a little more information about your PC, such as:

  • OS
  • Nvidia GeForce version
  • Are all the drivers up to date?
- I am using windows 10
- The nvidia geforce version is up to date, but the problem is still there. The problem has been here a long time and every time i update the geforce drivers, nothing is improved on the issue.
- I have tried updating all the drivers so that they are up to date with help of driver easy.
Thank you for replying!

Thank you for the information! :)

What version of Windows 10 are you running? They did release a new update, 1909.

I don't really see how that could be the thing that has caused the issue because it has been there for a long time and the updates has never helped, but I can install the update now.

This is a form of troubleshooting :) We start establishing a baseline, then going from there. Making sure everything is up-to-date ensures we have a solid baseline to work from :)

I don't see anything out of the blue, so let's try this.

  • Click on the Start button and in the search box, type Command Prompt
  • When you see Command Prompt on the list, right-click on it and select Run as administrator
  • When command prompt opens, copy and paste the following command into it, press Enter.

    Code:
    sfc /scannow
  • Wait for this to finish before you continue
  • Copy and paste the following command, press Enter.

    Code:
    findstr /c:"[SR]" %windir%\logs\cbs\cbs.log > %userprofile%\Desktop\sfc.txt
That will create sfc.txt on your Desktop. Please attach sfc.txt to your next post:
  • Open Reply window. Click 'More Reply Options'.
  • Go to the end of your text (if any).
  • Click 'Choose Files..'
  • For 'File name' paste this: %userprofile%\Desktop\sfc.txt
  • Click the 'Add to Post' link which will appear on the right when the file has been uploaded.
  • Click 'Add Reply'.

1. command got the following: Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations.
The second code got the message Can not find the searchpath. Could be wrongly translated from Swedish but it means something along those words.
