I gave an update. I posted some specs and asked which would be a better choice for its price and why and never got an answer
 
IMHO a desktop would be a go,they just last longer. That shipping price is a little steep for me as well. The laptop isn't a bad investment tho.
 
You're the first to say that. Everyone else says the laptop specs are better or that the PC specs are marginally better to the point that it's not a 500 dollar difference so you're better off with the laptop
