Ok so Im getting a new laptop soon as my current one is kinda "old" Now I believe something is wrong with my current laptop OS a when I try to copy or paste files from one place to another (to or from external drives r download from the internet) I get messages saying I dont have access or must be administrator even though I already am, and none of the troubleshooting in the past we've done that issue worked. Only thing we didnt try was to restore OS... which theres a way to do it without losing your files however it says just to be safe make sure you have a backup (which I dont) and the right recovery CD... however my pc was originally windows 8.. I got the free upgrade to WIn 10 thus I dont have a recovery CD and was afraid my Win 8 recovery wouldnt work so I didnt wanna test it and risk losing my stuff.
So my question is this. If I get a new laptop with a new fresh OS on it. is there a way to ransfer ALL the files from my old laptop to the new one withouttransfering any of the old laptops OS information or settings? basically i wanna transfer everything from my old laptop except the OS so I dont end up giving my new laptop OS whatever my old ones got (no theres no malware)
