Solved Gaming mouse lags

Hi,
I have a problem for quite a long time already (few months), but I recently got tired of this, so I decided to look for some solution to this.

Problem:
Sometimes (I believe it might be connected to RAM usage), usually when I'm playing LoL and have discord + browser (Opera) turned on, my mouse catches a very big lag - buttons doesn't respond, and movement itself is like the pointer gets refereshed every around 0.2s and moves by just a little bit. Also some beeping starts after around 2 seconds. Unplugging for 2-3 seconds and plugging in helps, but it often results in my death, because after I plug it back, the mouse goes to the edge of the screen, RMB (movement of character) happens and there is still around 1 second before I get back the control.

I have this PC for few years and this problem just randomly started appearing few months ago (I'd say 6-7). I have constantly connected 2nd mouse too (for when I move away from PC with mouse to watch sth from bed), but I did it for much longer before the problem appeared.

It's also not a mouse exclusive thing, because I bought another gaming mouse and it was the same thing. What's similar however is the fact, that both of the primary mouses are listed as "Game Mouse" in device manager, and the 2nd mouse is just "USB Mouse". No wireless mouses.

Updating driver says that it's already best driver for the device.

Closing browser and playing with only discord reduces the amout of this problem happening a lot, like it rarely even happens. Sometimes I can play with browser and discord open for few hours without it happening, but once it happens once, it happens continuously with like 5-20 mins interval, unless i close the browser.

I suspect the mouse behaviour is secondary as the low amount of free storage space will cause issues on it`s own.

Post the brand and model name or number of the power supply (PSU).

Download then run Speccy (free) and post the resultant url for us, details here, this will provide us with information about your computer hardware + any software that you have installed that may explain the present issue/s.

You need a new PSU asap as Tacens are on the Tier E • Potentially dangerous in multiple scenarios list here because they are so bad.

While we look at the Speccy report, one thing I will suggest is that you change the Windows Power Plan to Balanced, High Performance is a form of overclocking that is known to cause stability and overheating issues and a weak PSU such as the one that you have will get hotter and weaker the more that you use it.

Edit to add: Other issues flagged in Speccy are the low free storage space that was mentioned earlier and the fact that the storage device that you have Windows installed on is too small, you need at least a 256GB SSD for Windows nowadays as rather than going from version to another it looks like Windows 10 may just keep on getting updated and growing, Windows 7 no longer being supported means that you should have updated to Windows 10 for free while you still can in any event.

For Windows to be able to run efficiently and to be able to update, on a mechanical HDD you need to have between 20 and 25% of the partition or drive available as free storage space at all times and on an SSD between 10 and 20%, if you don`t you risk Windows becoming corrupt or not being able to update which also puts you at risk of malware attack.

Data only storage devices should not be allowed to get any lower than 10% of free storage space of the full capacity of the drive/partition on the drive, this also to avoid data corruption.

Please note that storage devices can physically fail if the amount of free storage space is allowed to drop below the required 10 or 20/25% minimum.

Thanks for the details. I've been trying to free more space on my SSD but I really have barely anything I can delete/move (that I can find). I've even had moments that less than 1 GB was free .

So in short buy better PSU, clear more space or buy bigger SSD is a must, and updating windows might help with the problem?

No since the updates require will also use space and when you update the system auto backups the old date for recovery if needed which also uses space.

You missed changing the Windows Power Plan, if not done already do it now or at least have a fire extinguisher at the ready.
