I running the FX 8350, MSI GTX 1050 TI on a MSI 970a gaming pro carbon motherboard, and while playing CS:GO i'm only getting about 120-140 fps. I'm playing at all low settings, but when I bump up the graphic settings I only get around 100 fps. I've read that other people on the same cpu got around 200-300 fps. The clock speeds stay around 4 GHz, the cpu temp is around 50C, but the motherboard temps are higher around 70C. Any suggestions? I'm running windows 8.1 btw

I'm also running the stock cooler, and if it matters, I just switched to the MSI 970a, after using a different motherboard

They never stated, but are the temps really getting to a point that would hinder performance? The CPU seems okay, but I'm not sure why the motherboard temps are so high

Hi, I can't do that at the moment, but a few days ago using Speccy, the idle temp for the cpu was about 35-40C, and the motherboard was around 55C. When running a game like CS:GO for a few minutes the cpu temps were like 55C and the motherboard peaks around 70C

Are you overclocking any components? Do you have the latest video drivers installed? If you go into Control Panel< System and Security< Power Options, is the power plan set to high performance?

I'm not overclocking anything, because i'm using the stock cooler. The drivers should all be up to date (they say they are on nvidia geforce experience), and I have high performance on my power options. When I saw the numbers with HW monitor, the utilization percentages were always low for both the cpu and gpu, both around 30-40% is that normal?
 
Lets make sure there is no corruption in the file system.

Click Start< type Command Prompt in the Start search box, right click on Command Prompt and click on Run as administrator. After the Command Prompt window opens, type chkdsk C: /r and hit enter. Type Y to confirm that you want to schedule a Check Disk to run on the next restart. After the Check Disk has been scheduled, close the Command Prompt window and reboot the computer to allow Check Disk to run.

See if there is any improvement after running Check Disk on the machine.

I'm stuck at scanning and repairing 11% and it has been like that for hours.
 
Nothing has changed...the temps are still high and performance is not the best. Would getting a better CPU cooler help cool the whole system and get better results?

EDIT: While gaming, the temps for both CPU and motherboard Temps are reaching high 60s low 70s, do you think it's throttling?
