I have a fairly new gaming pc (https://www.walmart.com/ip/HDD-RX-W...er-3-6GHz-WiFi-Gaming-64-GMA6200WST/239778578). When running Destiny or Fallout 76 I have no issues. I have tried both Anthem and GTAV however and experience massive framerate drops even on medium settings. I do not know a ton about computers but I have checked my ram an vram usage while running Anthem and GTAV and it looks like nearly all ram and half of vram are being used while playing. I'm not sure where the problem lies as I am running everything with the most recent updates and my computer seems to meet the minimum or maximum requirements for these games. Any help would be appreciated!

Noticed that the specs say 8GB of RAM, chances are that this is a single 8GB stick which means that it is only working in single channel and causing a bottleneck in the process.

Download then run Speccy (free) and post the resultant url for us, details here, this will provide us with information about your computer hardware + any software that you have installed that may explain the present issue/s.

To publish a Speccy profile to the Web:

In Speccy, click File, and then click Publish Snapshot.

In the Publish Snapshot dialog box, click Yes to enable Speccy to proceed.

Speccy publishes the profile and displays a second Publish Snapshot. You can open the URL in your default browser, copy it to the clipboard, or close the dialog box.

Just a fyi, Anthem is ok with 8GB of RAM but only on minimum settings, anything above and 16GB is recommended.

I did order more ram, as I do only have one 8gb stick currently. Its set to arrive the 24th so I will test after installing on the 24th and let you know what happens.

Can you post the Speccy url as was requested, the log contains a wall of useless info that we dont need and the time saved is better spent providing people with feedback.

Also I am aware Anthem is recommended 16gb. On lowest settings standing still in the hub area i get fps issues.

A few things in Speccy that need your attention;

Any idea why there are two installations of AVG, one is bad enough it being such a resource hog but if it has somehow been installed twice no wonder your system is suffering, you don`t need AVG at all so unless it is a paid for version you should ditch it and for the reasons explained below,

AVG Antivirus
Antivirus: Enabled
Virus Signature Database: Up to date
AVG Antivirus
Antivirus: Enabled
Virus Signature Database: Up to date
.NET Frameworks installed

Having more than one AV installed on your computer is bad, it will slow down the computer, cause internet connection problems and leave you with no AV protection at all if they cancel each other out as they fight for resources.

Windows 8, 8.1 and 10 come with an improved Windows Defender, it offers the same real-time anti-virus/anti-malware protection as Microsoft Security Essentials. Windows Defender also shares the same malware signature definitions as Microsoft Security Essentials, and Forefront Endpoint Protection. Technically, Microsoft Security Essentials has not been renamed Windows Defender, or combined with it in Windows 8, 8.1 and 10.

If any AV product that you have is a paid for version you should always make sure that you have a copy of the product key kept somewhere safe just in case you ever wish to reinstall it.

How to uninstall AVG here

If you stick with only Windows Defender, once any other AV has been correctly uninstalled, check to see if Windows Defender has auto enabled and allow it to update and carry out a full scan of your computer.

Power Profile
Active power scheme: High performance

I suggest that you change the Windows Power Plan to Balanced, High Performance is a form of overclocking that is known to cause stability and overheating issues and the setting should only be used for gaming type notebooks that have a discrete GPU that needs the extra power, CyberPower are not known for using good quality PSUs either so you may want to open up the case and see whats in there, a budget PSU will give you budget performance such as getting hot and starving your GPU of power.

Windows is well out of date and that is bad for a couple of reasons.

4/16/2020 2020-04 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1903 for x64-based Systems (KB4549951)

Troubleshooting computer problems is a waste of time when it is known that Windows is out of date as any one of a number of the missing hot fixes could be the solution to any problem that you may be having + being out of date puts you at risk of malware attack.

Your RAM is being obliterated and most likely caused by AVG and only being able to run in single channel.

I updated windows, changed my power profile, and uninstalled avg. I then tested gtav, anthem, and borderlands 3; all games I had issues with prior, and they all work beautifully. Thank you for help!
