No Idea how long you guys have been back, but so good to see you,was lost without Wolfie etc....have written on the lounge page so hoping past will be revealed there,as I spent many good years with PCHF.
Problem Acer Aspire model M3910......during the last 6 months have experienced endless screen freezes plus freindly blue screens.it became so bad that in the end I did (what I hate doing) a factory reboot. For a while all was well, now it has started again.I have doubled checked all drivers are OK,installed full expensive version of AVG who assure me PC is fully optimised and ALL drivers are in date. All hardware is as was/is?
Being in the middle of a disussion such as this and then getting screen freeze is not acceptable..all blue screens appear to point to BIOS memeory/caching/shadowing.
If as always, you can help cure this intermittant fault (since rebbot a lot less) I would appreciate it..Caskin (Derek)

Hello Derek Castle,

1. Copy any dmp files from C:\Windows\Minidump onto the desktop.
2. Select all of them, right-click on one, and click on Send To> New Compressed (zipped) Folder.
3. Upload the zip folder using the More Reply Options tab, Choose File then the Attach This File tab., bottom left of the dialogue input box.

Please take expanded screenshots and only use the method below to attach them.

Download Speedfan from here and install it. Once it's installed, run the program and post here the information it shows. The information I want you to post is the stuff that is circled in the example picture I have attached.

If you are running on a vista machine, please go to where you installed the program and run the program as administrator.

Your HDD has plenty of free storage space available and the SMART status is good so that is less likely to be the cause.

Can we have the HWMonitor and Speedfan information please, I don`t wish to inundate you with things to do so will hold off with the next step for now.

Seems that AVG is to blame, can you uninstall it and then run the AVG removal tool. Then replace your AVG with one of the following as a test to see if AVG is indeed the issue here...
