  • Hello everyone We want to personally apologize to everyone for the downtime that we've experienced. We are working to get everything back up as quickly as possible. Due to the issues we've had, your password will need to be reset. Please click the button that says "Forgot Your Password" and change it. We are working to have things back to normal. Emails are fixed and should now send properly. Thank you all for your patience. Thanks, PCHF Management

My Acer desktop is very near my modem and router, so I have it connected to my router with an ethernet cable. The download speed is about 600Mbps, which is what I pay for. My wife's Dell Inspiron (3 years old) is about 14 feet away and connects wirelessly. The download speed is only 70 Mbps. I moved her laptop near the router, and there is no difference in the download speed. Then I connected it to the router with an ethernet cable, like my desktop. Hardley any difference. I set up both computers, so I doubt if a setting is wrong. Any suggestions in the great difference in download speeds ?? Thanks, Mike

Speccy Scan.

  • Please go here and download Speccy.
  • Install and run the program.
  • Upon Completion:
  • Hit File
  • Publish Snap Shot
  • A link will appear, post that link.

Please download MiniToolBox and save it to your desktop.

Run the program by right clicking on it and selecting Run as administrator.

OK, I downloaded that Speccy scan, and ran it. Then it asks if I want to save it to a browser, or the clipboard. I chose clipboard, but I can not find it. I also tried to copy the address to my desktop. It only allowed me to copy a shortcut. I did that but am unable to add it to your site. ??????

Download then run Speccy (free) and post the resultant url for us, details here, this will provide us with information about your computer hardware + any software that you have installed that may explain the present issue/s.
To publish a Speccy profile to the Web:
In Speccy, click File, and then click Publish Snapshot.
In the Publish Snapshot dialog box, click Yes to enable Speccy to proceed.
Speccy publishes the profile and displays a second Publish Snapshot. You can open the URL in your default browser, copy it to the clipboard, or close the dialog box.

No, lets skip the speccy if you are having issues with it.

Get System Info Log.

Include in your next reply a Get System Info log.
Save it to your desktop when complete.
Once you have the file on your desktop, then upload it here.
Copy the URL after your report is loaded.
Then send us the link.

HI, not having much luck with Speccy or that Get System Info. file. It tells me that the one file is too large to upload, and the other message is that the speecy file does not have the proper file extension. I think I will just pass for now. Many thanks for your help and suggestions.

You need to upload te Get system info log here. ========> https://www.getsysteminfo.com/

There is the minitoolbox log, it is much easier. I'll leave that up to you.

Please download MiniToolBox and save it to your desktop.

Run the program by right clicking on it and selecting Run as administrator.
When the program opens select the following boxes:

Flush DNS
Report IE Proxy Settings
Reset IE Proxy Settings
Report FF Proxy Settings
Reset FF Proxy Settings
List content of Hosts
List IP Configuration
List Winsock Entries
List last 10 Event Viewer Errors
List Installed Programs
List Devices (Only Problems)
List Users, Partitions and Memory size

Please post the log in your next reply

there shouldn't be a Speccy file, you just need to click File > Publish Snapshot > Copy to Clipboard > Close. now you can paste (Ctrl+V) that link into your next post. (y)

I do not know how I got that ABC quote above. Just experimenting. I could not find a way to delete it sorry.

Yes, I would also like to see the mini toolbox log as well, that will show me a little more information I need in order to help you. 👍
