Hey,

Not sure if this goes here or somewhere else.
Got a Lenovo H330 and on startup I can enter BIOS and do what I need to. Problem I have it when I get to the Windows login page the keyboard and USBs don't work. I've tried other keyboards and mouse's. The pc did start up asking if I wanted to start up repair and I wasn't able to select it due to the usb items not working.

I don't know what I can do. I've cleared CMOS.

Try and re seat your hardware.

It says there was a problem resetting the pc.
I think I'm gonna have to put the HDD as a secondary on my other pc and try and save what I need.

Are you sure you are booting to the right partition?
Set your Bios to default, and set correct boot order.
You can get those errors, trying to boot to a non OS partition.

I booted from my usb which has windows 10 on.
Then went to reset the pc and still the same message. It sees that I have windows 10 from choosing the target os.

Try the startup repair three times in a row and then run Chkdsk /r from the command prompt in startup repair options

I have attempted a start up repair three times and it seems successful as it restarts and loads the windows login screen again. The USBs still don't work and I cannot do anything from the welcome screen. I have attempted to run chkdsk /f but the drive is write protected so won't let me go any further.

It now saying startup repair cannot be complete.
It's given me a log file but how I open it through recovery?

Download the Ultimate Boot CD for windows.

Hi Jaymie1989.

Run these Commands from the Command prompt window in the system recovery options window and see if the computer will then recognize your mouse and keyboard:
  • Bootrec.exe /rebuildbcd
  • BootRec.exe /fixmbr
  • BootRec.exe /fixboot
  • sfc /scannow /offbootdir=c:\ /offwindir=c:\windows
  • chkdsk C: /r
  • exit
If those commands don't help does the mouse and keyboard work if you boot the computer in Safe Mode?

Hi it's now saying an os was not found.
Rebuilding the BCD doesn't seem to work either.

I guess my only option is to format and reinstall?

Please run through those command options and also let me know if mouse and keyboard work in Safe Mode.

If nothing has helped so far then yes its possible that you will need to reinstall Windows but I would try following my advice in my previous post first and see if the USB devices work.
