Hi I've got a DVR that I have (up until now) been able to access my recordings on using my PC (windows 7). The PC and the DVR are in the same room, along with the router. All I needed to do was enter the IP address of the DVR in to firefox/chrome etc and I had access to all my recordings. I could do this either via wi-fi or ethernet cable.
Now however for no reason, whenever I enter the IP address I get the error "connection failed". Why is this happening? So far I've tried the following with no success;
- Cleared the IP address from cookies and cache
- Created a new user on my Windows 7 PC and tried to access the IP address.
- Reset the DVR so it forgets the wi-fi settings and re-connected it to the wifi/ ethernet.
- Reset the DVR and router so that the end digit on the IP address changes.
- Used different browsers.
- Entered the IP address followed by a / symbol (as I've found sometimes it wont connect without using ending with a /)
- Checked network and shared devices in control panel to see if the DVR is visible. It is there but I dont know which of the options (if any) I should troubleshoot. When I right click I get a MAC address, unique identifier and IP address. Theres nothing in there that can be changed.
The DVR still works without any issues as a DVR, so theres no signs that it has gone faulty.
I'm running out of solutions and I dont understand why suddenly the network/ DVR will not connect. Any ideas?
