When i am on the computer the cursor will stop moving and lock up. The screen then goes dark. Hitting enter doesnt help. I have to turn the comp off with the button then turn it back on for it to work again. Can anyone help? It locked up yesterday then came back up on its own in a minute or so. Today i had to hit the button to turn it off and then back on.

Let’s do a full workup of your system.
No personal data is published and everything shown is safe.

1) Download Speccy by Piriform.
In Speccy, click File > Publish Snapshot > Copy to Clipboard > Close.
Paste that link into your post. Is Speccy safe?

2) Download GetSystemInfo by Kaspersky.
In GSI, click Start. (takes about 10mins)
It makes a ZIP file on your desktop, drag that to their GSI Parser site.
Once analysed, paste the newly created URL into your post.

3) Download MiniToolBox by Farbar.
In MTB, tick List Installed Programs, click Go then close the program.
A file MTB.txt is created in the same folder, attach that to your post.

4) No software interrogates the Power Supply Unit so list the make/model and age.

Im going to bed now, its past my bedtime. I will do 2 and 3 tomorrow. I dont know where the clipboard is so i posted that but its so small.

Iam so sorry but i dont know much about comps. can you clarify num 2 more? Where would i find a zip file and is it easy to drag the zip file once i fi nd it?

Is the clipboard thew same as the notepad? I tried to print that screen but it wouldnt work.

In Speccy, click File > Publish Snapshot > Copy to Clipboard > Close.

I did all that but its not showing up in the notepad and i dont know where or what the clipboard is

I found what the clipboard is and speecy is there but there isnt anything to copy.

thats not the right thing
what isn't right?

Can you see that? its very small
what is very small - where am I looking?

Those Speccy options all all done in Speccy itself.
In Speccy, click File, in that, click Publish, there'll be a button Copy to Clipbord.

Then in your post, hit paste (Ctrl+V on the keyboard) and it'll paste in the Speccy link.

That Speccy link you posted goes to the Piriform website for Speccy not the Speccy report we need to see what's on your PC. :)

I will try now then hit the sack and thanks. 2 and 3 tomorrow

OK, speccy is done.
As to GSI, once downloaded, go to where it was saved to, double click it to run it, along the bottom of the pop up window is the Start button. (y)

Don't forget to do 3) and 4) from my list in post #2.

Some quick notes from Speccy;
  • you are using two antivirus programs, Defender and McAfee - remove McAfee (it can always be added later)
  • you have a 4GB and a 8GB stick of memory that aren't the same - remove the 4GB for now
While these may not be the issue, or may not help, they are at least things to cross off the list.
