Can't install drivers on GTX 1060

Hello, My Husband has an Advent DT2111 desktop pc, the specs are:
CPU Intel Core i5-2320 (3.0GHz)
Motherboard Foxconn H61MXL/H61MXL-K
Memory 8GB DDR3 (2 memory slots. Max 16GB)
Hard Drive 2TB Seagate ST2000DL003
CD Drive Lite-On iHAS124 B DVD RW
Video Card GTX 650 1GB GDDR3

He bought an Asus GTX 1060 6gb and has been trying to install it for the last few days, if the card is in the machine his monitor goes off and he will just get the advent splash screen, then it will say no signal, if he takes the card out his pc will load up as normal but he can't seem to install the drivers for it, it will get so far then tell him it can't find the hardware. He uninstalled all the drivers for his old card before starting. He has a power supply of 600 so don't think that is the issue.

Where is he going wrong?

It sounds like it's trying to boot from the onboard graphics. Has he tried going to BIOS and selecting PCI-E Video?

He can't see that option in bios, he has advanced which shows intergrated graphics.

1. If he selects the integrated does it have any sub categories?
2. On the Motherboard is the a place to plug in the video card and or from the power supply?
3. Is the Power Supply strong enough to accommodate that card?

1: yes, it says manual or auto.
2: yes, there is a six pin power supply going from power supply to graphics card.
3: He has 600w, the card recommends a minimum 500w according to the box.

What is listed settings for Initate Graphic Adapter?

On the right side of the screed it should give brief description on what they are/do.

Change it form Manual to Auto for the Integrated Graphics.
Test.
Make sure that the monitor is connected to the Video Card

Initate Graphic Adapter leave as is.

• PEG = PCI Express Graphics, aka your graphics card

• IGD = Integrated Graphics Device, aka your iGPU on the CPU

is he looking in the correct place?

In accordance to the Manual yes.

Just did what you said, this is the screen he gets to, then it just goes black and says no signal.

What is the make and model of the PSU? Also have you ensured the BIOS is up to date?

the psu is a corsair cx600, and not sure if the bios is up to date, he wouldn't have a clue how to do that, its from 2011 if that helps any.

ok, just downloaded, does he just put the bs file onto a flash drive and restart the pc and load from flashdrive?

There should have been a flash utility on the CD rom

sorry not sure, he unzipped the file which gave other files, BB5F1P04, inside that one is three more folders, DOS image, MEBIOS, and sysbios.

Don't unzip the file. Try using the FOX LiveUpdate tool.

can't get that to work. he would be using a usb stick, windows just loads as normal.

He managed to get fox live update tool, he has the bios update file, when he goes in to update bios, finds the correct file to update he gets a failure saying "bios rom is write protected, please make sure whether lockout jumpers or bios setting is correct" we are not really sure what to do from here, not really fantastic with computers to start with so really confused at the moment, sorry.
