These are the numbers on the HDD.What is the make and model of the New HDD and the old HDD?

I think the replacement drive is too thick according to my measurementsmake sure the drive is 7mm thick, which used to be the thinnest I could get.
I think the default is 9mm.
the large capacity drives had multiple internal platters when they first came out.Is a 2.5" drive different ( I purchased my two 1TB drives from Amazon ) from a laptop drive or did they started making the specs larger from when the drives were originally made?
I looked at some SSD's, but they were listed as SATA III.Why not get an SSD would be faster and less chances of failure since there are no moving parts.
None of the drives you have asked about are SSDs
Might also take the original drive with you so they can see a Comparision.Have you tried looking at some of the local computer shops?
