If i pay to have it set up can they make a back up for me before we disconnect the old comp?

Yes they should be able to.. But you would probably will have to pay for that as well.

If i get one from best buy they charge $149 to install it. I hope making a back up will be included.

On this comp i think it came with norton but my friend said norton screws up the comp and we took it off and put on avast free. Is that the best free anti-virus?

If you get a new computer, The AV that comes with it is the best to use. You won't need a 3rd party AV.

Do you know of any computer repair shops that are locally owned? This would be better than Best Buy.
Also, if you have a High School or local Technical College, they may have a co-op programs that will allow computer students to do the work you need at a fraction of the cost.

Doesnt the AV that comes with it cost a monthly fee? I went to best buy and they want $200 to set it up and back up my bookmarks. I was looking at an all in 1 comp that is 699. The back is totally different from my tower comp. Do i still take the cable from the ground and hook it into the modem, then take another line from the modem to the back of the all in 1?

OH, they are also a month behind so the earliest they could come out is june 18

The man at best buy said you cant back up bookmarks to a disk and put it in the new firefox because they dont have discs anymore

Thumb drive (USB Drives) you can back them up to that.

Basically yes
Im sorry for being stupid, but i dont know what USB drive is or how in the heck i can get my bookmarks and passwords into a USB

Will have to switch system so can provide proper instructions so there will be a time delay.

We all started someplace no worries there.
I found a place in troubleshooting info and somehow made a profile that says john but it didnt do anything that i know of. There was nothing to click on or save or send anywhere.

This is what it says

Profile: john
Default Profile no
Root Directory C:\Users\John\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\4qmfcrzj.john
Local Directory C:\Users\John\AppData\Local\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\4qmfcrzj.john

under it in 4 separate boxes it has Rename, Remove, Set as default profile, and Launch profile in new driver

Backup for Bookmarks please feel free to ask if you get confused or any issue arises.

With Firefox open in the upper right, you will see 3 horizontal bars select that.

Look down the list and select bookmarks.

on the very bottom you will see Manage Bookmarks click Manage Bookmarks.

You should now be at the following window

Screenshot_20230517_103159.png

Where it shows Import and Backup top middle click that

From that menu select Export Bookmarks to HTML

This will bring up the save window.

Select Desktop from the far left then select Save in the lower right.

Close out everything to the desktop and you should see a file named Bookmarks.

I clicked on the 3 bars. there is nothing that says bookmarks or favorites
