Yes. All done except for reset router to defaults, reset browsers which I forgot to do. Patchmypc worked quite nicely this old PC.
Set up DNS Jumper but not showing IP addresses..... see screenshot below.
Am I missing something?

? It does not show IP, it is a tool for changing your DNS server and finding the best one for your area. You should now just hit apply DNS and it will be set to google DNS. Or you can use this DNS to block ads on your machine. Ad Blocking DNS

Alright, in your Autoruns log I still see remnants of TeamViewer running, & I do not see it in a list of installed programs. I want a list of the currently installed programs on your machine before I make this final fix list for you.

Please download MINITOOLBOX and run it.

? It does not show IP, it is a tool for changing your DNS server and finding the best one for your area. You should now just hit apply DNS and it will be set to google DNS. Or you can use this DNS to block ads on your machine. Ad Blocking DNS

Should I make the change in Settings to make it start at System Start up? I guess it's only working if it appears in the systray?

No, you can just keep the program in a folder and use it when you want to easily change the DNS there is no need to have it run with windows. Once the DNS is changed, then that is it. DNS does not revert if the program is not running. It is just an easy tool to use instead of manually changing the DNS you just choose what one you want and click a button.

The TOSHIBA files are very resistant to removal. I get an error message when using geek uninstaller ... see below. And dUninstaller says they have been removed.

I will try again with geek and dUninstaller.
I have several gigs of files to transfer to an external HD but didn't want to do it until the PC was clean. Will do tonight and then use Privaser.

Good morning M,
The laptop had slowed somewhat after the two previous failed FRST scans, but now better after running successfully in Safe Mode.
Boot time, systray icons load fairly quickly. Browsers & programs (MS Office, & others ) open quickly. Thanks for that.

From what I've read, TinyWall (not Firewwall ) sits on top of Windows Firewall. But if Windows Updates don't work, which happens often, then the firewall won't be updated. Am I right?
Which other free firewall would you recommend?
What about free and paid Antivirus? I'm currently using Panda AV which does a good job as per https://www.av-test.org/en/antivirus/home-windows/windows-vista/

No, they are two separate programs, the firewall will be just fine even if you turn windows updates off.

Using the built in firewall is sufficient, I have used tinywall and private wall before, and they get the job done. You can control what connects to the internet through windows firewall easily.
