Hello guys,

i am really in need of your help here. I upgraded every piece on my pc and since doing that i get black screens in games with the music still runing (sometimes?) after a short lag. Only message I have on my screen then is signal lost. Weird thing is, that doesnt allways happen. On one day it worked perfectly fine, on other days (more like 95% of the days) it gives me that message. Doesnt really matter what i play either, tried newer and older games. sometimes it works for 3 hours, sometimes 10 seconds. most of the time about 1 minute id guess. Also tried basically all solutions i could find online up to this point. would love the help. Specs coming below. Is my graphic card just riped even though its new ? Tried the mainboard intern graphic card, that worked perfectly fine. Also tried an old nvidea 610, worked with that one as well. My graphic card is a Geforce GTX 3050.

Hope ay of you guys might know what my problem might be. Also thought about selling the 3050 and changing to AMD Radeon something since maybe it doesnt like my AMD cpu that much, then again I just expect it to be a graphic card error since it works without it.
Anyway hope to hear from you soon
Kind Regards

Could be a driver issue.

Run DDU and download a fresh installer executable from here.

An important note: You MUST download the driver executable and disconnect your computer from the internet before running DDU, otherwise Windows will automatically download drivers (which you don't want).

Once you have ran DDU in safe mode, boot up into a normal Windows session (ensuring that you aren't connected to the internet for even a moment) and run the installer.

Restart your computer from the power menu and see if this helps.

Sorry but you have post on a tech forum asking for help but have provided almost zero information about your computer or it`s hardware, this makes it impossible for anyone to even hazard a guess as to what is going on.

Post the brand and model name or number for the MB, the RAM (including the number of sticks, the add on video card and the PSU (power supply unit) providing these details will enable folk to better help you.

If the MB was replaced, did you clean install Windows after fitting the new board and were the chipset drivers installed as soon has Windows had finished installing.

Thanks for the quick reply! Sadly this didnt work for me, still crashes the same eay it did before
:(

Thank you for the quick response and the tip !
MB: ASRock X370M-HDV R4.0 with AMD Ryzen 7 4700G
Power supply : LC600H-12 V2.31 600W

On mainboard : AMD Radeon Graphics

Ah and yes since i also threw my old HHD out and changed for an SSD 1 TB from Western Digital i reinstalled Windows completly. Sadly i need to say i have no idea if the chipset driver was instaled as soon as windows was finished

You have five minutes to edit replies please use it rather than double post/bump your thread and please no need to quote every reply, it not only causes clutter but also delays us replying because we have been rereading previous posts :(

Problems we can see from your new information;

The PSU is of poor quality and being only intended for office type computers it will overheat internally when you put the PC under load.

1 16 GB RAM stick : GSKILL AEGIS DDR4

You have not included the speed of the RAM but you having only a single stick is bad and for a couple of reasons;

Ryzen CPUs are notorious for not liking slow RAM and because you only have the one stick it can only work in single channel at 50% of the speed that it is capable of when paired with a matching stick, example, 1600MHz as opposed to a combined speed of 3200MHz when two sticks are working in dual channel.

The on die video from the CPU uses system memory for support which not only eats up the RAM but also causes a bottleneck when the RAM is only working in single channel.

Gaming sucks on integrated video and the slow RAM and poor quality PSU are making things worse

What games are you trying to play.

Regarding the chipset drivers;

Once Windows has been clean installed you must then install first the MBs chipset drivers, then the storage/SATA drivers and third the graphics drivers, the drivers can either come from a disk provided by the motherboard manufacturer ** or downloaded from their site and saved to a flash drive etc, this is a must and Windows should not be allowed to check for updates before it has been done as more often than not Windows installs the wrong drivers or in the incorrect order and this can cause all sorts of problems.

** For OEM computers/notebooks such as Acer, Dell and HP etc you must only download drivers from their support page, OEMs may sometimes redirect users to a third party site such as AMD or Nvidea to obtain the latest drivers for their GPUs, this tends to be for high end gaming notebooks and desktops though.

Ahh im very sorry i didnt knew that with the reply option :(

I dont know if i just understood your reply wrong or something but i'm not playing over the intern graphics card, i'm playing over a geforce GTX 3050.

Since, as you propably allready realised, im quite new to this hahah. Would i feel the PSU overheating internally on the outside as well ? Because its really chill at the fan. Propably should buy a new one anyway but I was on a budget thats why i bought that cheap one. Only thing thats warm when it crashes its my 3050 (But not quite hot ).

Regarding what games i tried so far: Skyrim, Age of Empires, Age of Empires 4, Age of myhology, League of Legends, Dragon Age Origins. Cant really give reliable information if some games work better than others since it crashed on all of them at some point but for example AOE4 worked for one day, and after that allways crashes relativly quick into the game sometimes after a few minutes, sometimes after one and sometimes even in menus. same for the others League worked on the same day AOE4 worked perfectly, but didnt work after that. Skyrim didnt work from the beginning crushing after about 1-2 minutes ingame. weird thing is, since i tried to check if the problem lies within the 3050 or something else is tried to start it over the intern graphics card, where it didnt crash (naturally on low settings).

So your recommendation basically would be: Second RAM stick, new better PSU, and then propably another clean install of windows since i didtn manually install the MB chipset driver or the SATA driver ?

You did not include any GPU information in your list of parts only the onboard video which suggested that you had removed the RTX 3050, the fact that the GPU is still being used is even more of a concern as the PSU is of such poor quality I wouldn`t trust it as a door stop.

Any GPU better than entry level must have the support of a Gold efficiency rated PSU from the Corsair RM range, EVGA or Seasonic and the minimum for your GPU would be the example here

Strongly suggest that you remove the add on GPU until you have an appropriate PSU, the second stick of RAM is a must for gaming but unlike the weak PSU only having the one stick will not damage any hardware only your gameplay.

What speed is your RAM, 3200MHz is the max that your CPU can handle.

On top of what Phill is asking for:

Download and run the free version of speccy.

Once you have ran speccy, follow the instructions to upload a snapshot found here.

To publish a Speccy profile to the Web:
  1. In Speccy, click File, and then click Publish Snapshot.
  2. In the Publish Snapshot dialog box, click Yes to enable Speccy to proceed.
  3. Speccy publishes the profile and displays a second Publish Snapshot dialog box. You can open the URL in your default browser, copy it to the clipboard, or close the dialog box.

Power Profile
Active power scheme: AMD Ryzen High Performance
Ultimate performance is only beneficial on gaming laptops where it needs that extra boost, your power plan should be set to balanced.

CPU:
Specification: AMD Ryzen 7 4700G

Memory:
Max Bandwidth: DDR4-2132

AMD says your CPU is good up to 3200MHz memory, Ryzen thrives off fast memory and is something to consider.

Yes to all because as has been mentioned above Ryzen CPUs need fast RAM + after looking at Speccy we can also see that no system drivers have been installed since Windows 11 was, while waiting on the new PSU do the below;

Download and save to a USB flashdrive just the Chipset, VGA and LAN drivers from here

Do a reset of Windows choosing the keep nothing option, once done, shutdown the PC, disconnect the LAN cable.

Restart the PC and install the chipset, VGA and LAN drivers in that order, once done, shutdown the PC, reconnect the LAN cable, restart the PC, allow Windows an Windows Defender to be updated then wait on your new PSU.

Just to emphasize, the single stick of RAM is going to cause a bottleneck so you will not get the best from the CPU and GPU until it is rectified.

The below is from the homepage for the present Aegis DDR4 F4-3000C16D-16GISB RAM;

  • Do not mix memory kits. Memory kits are sold in matched kits that are designed to run together as a set. Mixing memory kits will result in stability issues or system failure.

I followed your instructions and tried it out: Worked perfectly didn’t crash anymore (although I could only try it for about 10 minutes since I needed to catch a train, but before this as Stated it crashed after 1-2 min normally so I hope it really is fixed). I want to thank you guys for your time and your help, you made my day and more days to come in which I can use my pc normal :) . You guys are the best.

Kind regards
