If you have no idea what those entries are it looks like you may be infected with malware.

The reason why the entries are dated ahead is because they are scheduled update checks.

Can you copy/paste the MTB log into your next reply for us, it is even more important that we have the log now so it can be checked for malware.

doesnt seem to let me has given me this problem

Oops! We ran into some problems. Please try again later. More error details may be in the browser console.

Try doing a reset from within Windows, see step two here this will reinstall Windows but keep your personal data.

Once the above has been done, check for and install all Window10 and Defender updates, redo the Speccy steps and post the new url for us.

as I brought my pc from pcspecialists some years ago it came with Windows 7 which was upgraded for free on the release of Windows 10. my worry is that if I uninstall I don't have the key to re-install. will this be an issue?

Your product key is not required for doing a reset but fwiw as long as you upgraded the original Windows 7 to 10 through Microsoft your MB and Windows product key are stored on the Microsoft database and you can clean install Windows as many times as you like and you will not get asked for any product key.

Did you upgrade to Windows 10 from the original Windows 7 using Microsoft updates, this includes going straight from 7 to 10 or from 7 to 8, 8.1 then 10.

yeah i went from 7 to 10 it actually did it automatically my issue is now its says activate my windows in bottom right on my screen has said that for a while hasn't really bothered me all thew much but I cant get much help from Microsoft support team.

You should have mentioned this from the outset, what dealings have you had with Microsoft, not being activated means you are locked out of receiving updates that include security patches and bug fixes etc, it also means that no reputable tech forum can or will help you.

Because you upgraded from 7 to 10 you have been digitally activated rather than using a product key.

Before we can go any further we need to know what dealings you have had with Microsoft, have you spoke to them on the telephone or tried to reactivate Windows some other way.

Did the activation issue start when you fitted the new SSD.

Did you clean install Windows 10 to the SSD when the SSD was attached to the MB in this computer.

i tried to contact them on there support system a while ago but I sort of didn't go any further as it didn't bother me. i still get windows updates though. is it worth recontacting because I remember them being very dismissive because I didn't have a product key.

i didn't clean no but the activation is was before the SSD was installed if that helps.

Sorry but not sure what you mean.

Was the Windows installation on the SSD put there when the SSD was in another computer.

the activated windows issue predates the SSD installation but I had literally copied windows files from my hard drive over onto my SSD

Your priority should be to get Windows activated and for the two reasons that were mentioned previously, how to reactivate a digital licence info here

The above should hopefully get you sorted, we are unfortunately at the point by were the PCHF Terms and rules mean that we can no longer offer any assistance until we can determine that the OS is activated, PM a member of staff if you need this thread reopening.

Sorry but nothing has changed since your post #30 and my reply #32 as in there is nothing shown to have been installed to prove that Windows 10 is legit, the lack of any MTB log also looks bad, below is the date of your Windows 10 installation and the state of play of Windows 10 updates.

You need to contact Microsoft and have them sort it as without being able to prove that Windows 10 is legit no reputable forum can or will be able to help you.

im not sure quite why that is because I can now see that it is acc activated. could it be because I haven't restarted my computer since the windows operative activated it for me? also with MTB I'm unsure how I can send you this file I can see it and read through it but when I try and attach it and click send it just doesn't send. I could send it via a series of screenshots but what ever you think will work best.

How would I prove that my windows is legit? what do I need from windows to prove this.

When was this.

The person that helped you should have told you that you needed to restart the computer and check to make sure that Windows was able to update, which it isn`t and for as to why explained below;

Partition 1
Partition ID: Disk #1, Partition #1
Disk Letter: C:
File System: NTFS
Volume Serial Number: 18D31D5F
Size: 459 GB
Used Space: 453 GB (98%)
Free Space: 5.94 GB (2%)

You were advised of the danger of this way back in my reply #12;

For Windows to be able to run efficiently and to be able to update, on a mechanical HDD you need to have between 20 and 25% of the partition or drive available as free storage space at all times and on an SSD between 10 and 20%, if you don`t you risk Windows becoming corrupt or not being able to update which also puts you at risk of malware attack.

Data only storage devices should not be allowed to get any lower than 10% of free storage space of the full capacity of the drive/partition on the drive, this also to avoid data corruption.

Please note that storage devices can physically fail if the amount of free storage space is allowed to drop below the required 10 or 20/25% minimum.

i have restarted and this has fixed my memory issue haha I really appreciate your help thank you.

Glad to hear it and thanks for letting us know (y)

Just the matter of backing up your C: drive now so that you can free up the space that you need to be able to install the missing and future updates, clear at least 30% if you can, you may drop to as low as 25% just by getting 20H2 up to where we are now.

You are welcome :)
