First off, I have an odd situation. I have tried researching for hours but no roads lead me anywhere.

Just recently, I re-installed my Realtek Audio Drivers. After that, I now see that I have a "2-" in front of Realtek when I look at my drivers in Device Manager or when I type in "Sound" into Cortana. There was no issue with this until I plugged in my headphones (Sony with built-in mic), and it was not being recognized and it was missing in "Sound" (type in Sound in Cortana). Despite the fact that my headphones weren't being recognized and were missing from Sound, I could still hear perfectly through my headphones with the same high quality sound. Again, no issue with this until I went to play some games with some friends on discord (like usual). I go on there and the built-in mic doesn't work or recognize anything at all. This situation obviously leads back to me re-installing my Realtek drivers. Actually, I'm not even sure why I did re-install them. But still, my situation is yet to be resolved. I have tried re-installing Realtek drivers again, restarting my PC, troubleshooting, etc. I don't want to have this lead me to a factory reset (that's why I'm here for help).

If you guys need anymore information to look deeper into this for a fix, please let me know! Thanks for your time, have a great day :D

In case you haven’t already tried this...
Uninstall all audio drivers.
Don’t reinstall, just reboot and see if Windows works it out.
If no luck, then yes, reload them yourself and see if that works.
Did you use the drivers that came off the install CD when you got the unit or from the Realtek website? You could also try not reloading them and using Windows Updates and seeing if that does it for you.
