I'm looking into upgrading my laptop with some more memory (fast, 8gb DDR3 1600+) and with an SSD (fast, 220gb+) but I need some help choosing from all of the options. I'm pretty sure DDR3 memory would work fine in my laptop, but I'm not sure, as it currently has DDR3L memory in it so I'm trying to look for memory with a voltage of 1.35 or less... as for the SSD, I don't really care what it is as long as it has over 480mb/s write and at least 220gb+. One thing that needs to apply to both the memory and the SSD is reliability, and the company/memory/SSD needs to have a good reputation for working well and being reliable. Also, the SSD needs to be under $100... Here are some options I've found:
SSD's
  1. 275gb Crucial MX300
  2. 240gb Kingston SSDNow UV400
  3. 250gb Samsung 750 EVO
Memory:
  1. Corsair Vengeance DDR3L 4x2 DDR3L-1866
  2. Crucial Ballistix Sport DDR3L 4x2gb DDR3L-1866
I also used UserBenchmark to compare the actual results of the drives, and it seems both the Samsung and Crucial are better than the Kingston, but the Crucial appears to be better than the Samsung, so right now, the best combo seems to be the Crucial MX400 and the Corsair Vengeance RAM, but you guys let me know what you think.

On another note, that Corsair RAM looks to be out of stock on the planet earth, so how does this Crucial setup look? I think I'm going to do this, just need some opinions before I do anything. Is Crucial reliable, and do they have a good reputation?

What is the most the Laptop can handle for the RAM?

If it is 8 GB then do the eight if it can handle more (depending on what you are planning the laptop doing) personally I would do that or as close to the maximum as I could.

My laptop can handle up to 16gb, but I really don't need that much for this laptop and I'm trying to stay under $200 total.

I just realized that I can afford the Samsung 850 (not 750) EVO 250gb just fine.
So, should I get the Samsung 850 EVO 250gb with the 8gb Crucial Ballistix 1.35v RAM?

So now that we have the SSD ordered, I'm wondering something else about the RAM... Does it matter which speed it is? I want the 1866MHz memory, but my laptop only has 1600MHz memory right now, and on the upgrade page for Dell-certified memory, it only shows 1600MHz sticks. Here's the website: http://www.dell.com/en-us/shop/pfydresults/241838/?categoryId=4325

So now, I'm left with these as options for memory upgrades:
1600MHz
  1. Dell Certified 4gb stick (x2) 1600MHz
  2. Corsair Vengeance 4x2gb 1600MHz DDR3L (1.35v)
  3. Crucial Ballistix Sport 4x2gb 1600MHz DDR3L (1.35v)
1866MHz
  1. Crucial Ballistix Sport 4x2gb 1866MHz DDR3L (1.35v)
So I'd like to know A) if I could use 1866MHz RAM and B), if not, which 1600MHz kit should I buy?

That's not what I'm asking. I'm wondering if it matters if I get 1600MHz or 1866MHz. I know there's a slight performance change, but I don't know if there's a limit as to the maximum RAM speed my CPU can support. Is that a thing? My laptop has 1600MHz right now, and the only thing Dell recommends is 1600MHz. That being said, I don't know if they offer any 1866MHz RAM, but still. If you want to know my system specs, here's something...
•AMD A4-7210 @1800MHz (With Radeon R3 graphics)

It isn't what your cpu supports,it is your mobo that will dictate how much ram you can have and what speed.. That was the reason i ask about the laptop spec's.

I've run into an issue. I need to boot from DVD so that I can run the Samsung clone program, but these are my only boot options and I don't know what they are.
