Solved Weird pc issue

Status
Not open for further replies.
Ok so my pc was running fine and i noticed that the keyboard and mouse lights go off meaning they got disconnected and for some reason my gpu stoped sending signals and the weird thing is that the pc was still running fine with its light on and fans idling, the issue came from the pc not the hdmi or monitor, after that i hold tge power button for a minute it didnt turn off, so i switched the psu on and off and then i turned on the pc again and the issue didnt occur again and the pc ran just fine. Should i be worried? What could have caused this?

Could be:
Hardware Failure.
PSU
GPU
Over Heating
Fluke
Loose Connection
Not enough space on drives
Improper driveers

Let's see if a specy report shows anything otherwise we will be guessing.

Do not forget to post the make and model of the PSU if this is a desktop.

Download then run Speccy (free) and post the resultant url for us, details here, this will provide us with information about your computer hardware + any software that you have installed that may explain the present issue/s.

To publish a Speccy profile to the Web:

In Speccy, click File, and then click Publish Snapshot.

In the Publish Snapshot dialog box, click Yes to enable Speccy to proceed.

Speccy publishes the profile and displays a second Publish Snapshot. You can open the URL in your default browser, copy it to the clipboard, or close the dialog box.

Alright, will do. Just to clear some things up. Its not loose hdmi connection cause i have tried connecting and ronnecting mutiple times, overheating cpu or gpu? No its really cold in my room and the fans were idling. Not enough space on drives? No cause my main c nvme drive has 338gb left and my other aditional hdd for games has 148gb left.

Like I stated may have been a fluke on time thing how is the system running since then?
Somethings that you can try and check.

Go through the system and make sute that they cards are reseated and same for the power and data cables. When the RAM was update, something may have been jarred.

Are the keyboard and mouse wires (usb/ps2) or wireless.
Swapped batteries.

Let's try a Clean Boot and see what happens.

Showing
Windows 10 Pro 64-bit
Computer type: Desktop
Installation Date: 1/22/2023 9:48:54 PM
Did you do the install and or was this preinstalled.
Did you install the chipset first then the drivers in the proper order?

Never allow Windows and or some third-party programs retrieve drivers for you they usually get it wrong and or using hacked ones.

Disable the RAM over clocking (turn off the XMP) and see if that helps.

Power Profile
Active power scheme: Ultimate Performance
Set to balanced and see of that helps at all.

Change the Windows Power Plan to Balanced, Ultra and High Performance are a form of overclocking that is known to cause stability and overheating issues, the setting should only be used for gaming type that have a discrete GPU that needs the extra power.

You can always change it back.

Well the issue doesnt happen all the time and it only hapened yesterday i have been running the pc perfectly fine for like 7 hours, so before saying its a fluke, im just checking to see if everything is alright.

Keyboard and mouse are usb, i installed windows myself and i remember only getting the gpu driver, i though chipset wasnt necessery cause i did a windows install after i bought the pc without it and its running perfectly for like a year. And the pc is perfectly running right now aswell. Im just worried about it being a psu issue cause i dont want it damaging my parts xDD

My ram sticks support 3200mhz so why xmp would be an issue? Oh as for power plans i set it to ultra cause i dont want any stutters in games

Sometimes it can be a fluke other time a warning of something yet to come. Like I stated tings to look at and try.

Will not know unless you test.

Cool Master are not the best PSU on the markets, and some have a poor rating.

Cannot handle heat at 750 watts. Ripple issues on the 3.3V rail. Noise level on +3.3V and +5VSB above maximum allowed. Questionable capacitor quality. Poor Voltage Regulation. Efficiency lower than advertised.

This may help selecting a better PSU.

Also i just looked and my psu isnt listed there.

CPU Chipset Driver
Chipset drivers are software instructions that tell Windows how to properly communicate and work with your motherboard and the small subsystems on it, and are based on the processor family you are able to use on that motherboard. Chipset drivers have a significant impact and play an important role in controlling the communication between different components including the hard drives, system memory, etc.

thanks but, should i get the chipset driver from ASUS website or AMD?

To add another opinion for the future, I had a similar issue when putting the computer to sleep/waking it up, it was fixed by changing the surge protector that the computer was plugged into and reinstalling Windows from scratch.

If it doesn't come back I wouldn't worry about it. Otherwise Rustys advice is good to follow anyway keep the system working as well as it can.

Balanced is better for gaming unless you are on a notebook, it's a form of overclocking and can cause system instabilities/issues, from what I have seen it's not something you need to be using unless you fit that criteria.
