I keep getting this same STATUS_ACCESS_VIOLATION crash when I play games, when I watch videos, when I use google maps, and it happens somewhat frequently. Despite completely resetting my PC, the error still occurs and I'd like to know if this is an issue with my RAM before I change it. I ran memory diagnostic and on one test pass no issues had been spotted. What do I do?

Sorry but you have post on a tech forum asking for help but have provided zero information about your computer or it`s hardware, this makes it impossible for anyone to even hazard a guess as to what is going on.

Is the computer a custom build or brand name such as Dell or HP, if a brand name, provide the model name or series number (not serial) if a custom build post the brand and model name or number for the CPU, MB, the RAM ( including the amount, number of sticks and speed ) add on video card if one is used and the PSU (power supply unit) providing these details will enable helpers to better assist you.

If the Windows is crashing we will will also need the crash dmps.

No problem. Sorry, it is my first time here.
MSI Trident X2 13th
Intel i9 13900k
RTX 4090 Ventus 3x
64gb DDR5@4400mhz (cant change via click bios 5 for some reason) I believe 4 sticks
PSU I'm not sure on the wattage

Windows doesn't seem to BSOD, only applications fail to load and frequently close or restart

MSI state that the PSU in your rig is a 1000W Gold efficiency rated supply and it will most likely be one of their own, not bad but not brilliant either, MSI feel that it is good enough for your build so nothing to see there.

Fwiw,the only thing wrong with the RAM is that it is not fast enough to be able to get the best out of the CPU, you need DDR5 5200MT/s for that.

Couple of things for you to do;

Download then run Speccy ( free ) and post the resultant url for us, details here, this will provide us with information about your computer hardware + any software that you have installed that may explain the present issue/s.

To publish a Speccy profile to the Web:

In Speccy, click File, and then click Publish Snapshot.

In the Publish Snapshot dialog box, click Yes to enable Speccy to proceed.

Speccy publishes the profile and displays a second Publish Snapshot. You can open the URL in your default browser, copy it to the clipboard, or close the dialog box.

Download MiniToolBox and save the file to the Desktop.

Close the browser and run the tool, check the following options;

List last 10 Event Viewer Errors
List Installed Programs
List Devices (Only Problems)
List Users, Partitions and Memory size

Click on Go.

Post the resulting log in your next reply for us if you will.

Looks like when you did the above you chose to keep all your personal data and settings and just reset Windows, this sometimes works but most often not as the original installation was not done correctly in the first place, you should never ever have your OS and personal data on the same drive or as in this instance on the same partition on a large storage capacity drive, see my canned info below;

Windows should always be installed on either its own drive or on a separate partition on a larger drive, this reduces the amount of free space that is required to be kept available + it makes creating a regular back a whole lot easier.

A 256GB SSD or separate partition on a larger capacity drive should be the minimum capacity allowed for.

Not relevant here but for others reading this that are still running Windows 10; equally as important is being prepared for the need to upgrade to another OS, Windows 10 is nearing its end of life and extended support will cease on October 14th, 2025, when the time comes you will only have to worry about upgrading or clean installing Windows to the C: partition as opposed to needing to reinstall all of your programs and data if they were kept on a separate partition on the same drive.

Windows will also boot up quicker on its own partition as it does not need to install drivers for any third party programs.

To do things correctly will take a bit of work but short term Spotify and the world renowned for causing problems Razer software need to be uninstalled and the PC then restarted and used as you normally would but without reinstalling either of the two aforementioned programs.

Something else that does not help and coincidentally another problematic program/ driver package, Logitech G Hub never understand why people do not uninstall no longer used software or drivers and especially when they are known to cause issues such as driver conflicts.
 
Weird, since when I reinstalled windows I reinstalled from an ISO file and wiped all of my settings, took a while to get it to work for selecting the correct partition on my drive but eventually got through the process. Do I still have to reinstall? And how?

So, to be clear, you would like me to uninstall Razer synapse, Spotify and G Hub?
 
I did say that it looked like you had chose to keep all your personal data and settings and just reset Windows.

You only have the one data partition and everything is lumped on it.

Allowing 50GB for Windows 11 and this being generous what you are telling us would mean that you have installed and saved circa 750GB of data in just 6 weeks, is that likely.

The first two yes as they are causing problems in any event but do you even have any Logitech keyboards or mice.

yes, one keyboard and one mouse and kinda need the software to adjust my mouse

IIRC i remember deleting every partition of my ssd when i reinstalled windows
