Is anyone able to have a quick look at these issues that I have been having with GTA V and FIFA 20 (also Modern Warfare). The games have run perfectly in the past. I have tried all of the obvious stuff (uninstalling games, updated graphics driver, got a replacement GPU).

(ignore audio, I was watching a video)

I am running an RTX 2060 Super if that helps...

Please post your CPU, GPU & Motherboard Full specs.
As for the type of issue I believe it's a Motherboard Issue as there have been previous issues with certain motherboards not supporting certain Nvidia Cards and causing graphics to flicker.
But, it could very well just be a faulty graphics card.

Processor (CPU)AMD Ryzen 5 3600 Six Core CPU (3.6GHz-4.2GHz/36MB CACHE/AM4)
MotherboardASUS® TUF X470-PLUS GAMING (DDR4, 6Gb/s, CrossFireX) - RGB Ready!
Memory (RAM)16GB Corsair VENGEANCE DDR4 3200MHz (2 x 8GB)
Graphics Card8GB NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 2060 SUPER - HDMI, DP - VR Ready!
(Also note that I have had the graphics card replaced with a new one - same model - so I would be surprised this one was faulty too!

Not sure what has happened to Compute so lets see if I am able to help you;

Can you post the brand and model name or number of the power supply (PSU).

Download then run Speccy (free) and post the resultant url for us, details here, this will provide us with information about your computer hardware + any software that you have installed that may explain the present issue/s.

To publish a Speccy profile to the Web:

In Speccy, click File, and then click Publish Snapshot.

In the Publish Snapshot dialog box, click Yes to enable Speccy to proceed.

Speccy publishes the profile and displays a second Publish Snapshot. You can open the URL in your default browser, copy it to the clipboard, or close the dialog box.

CORSAIR 550W VS SERIES™ VS-550 POWER SUPPLY

CORSAIR 550W VS SERIES™ VS-550 POWER SUPPLY
Not an appropriate PSU when there is anything more than the most basic of add on video cards present, they are still available new but having only been released in 2018 the VS range has been discontinued already with the equally as feeble CV (Corsair value) range, the type of use that Corsair recommend for their VS (value series) range of PSU is as follows;

This VS series power supply has 550W of guaranteed power and is perfect for home or office system build. The VS550 offers 80 PLUS efficiency allowing you to enjoy lower energy bills. The built in 120mm fan is thermally controlled, so only spinning when its pushed hard.

For a gaming quality GPU you need a minimum of a Gold efficiency rated PSU, what is recommended for your GPU can be found here 700W seems a bit ott to me and I feel that a good quality brand 650W Gold efficiency rated PSU would be adequate, fingers crossed for you that a weak PSU has not damaged your card, is there anyone that you can ask to test the GPU in their system for you, alternative being to ask a local tech/tech store what they would charge to test the card for you.

You have a couple of other equally important things going on according to Speccy but if you wish to address them while waiting to upgrade the PSU I would strongly suggest that you disconnect your second screen so as to lighten the load and drop the internal temps of the PSU.

Thanks for taking the time to reply to this. If I could just bring a couple of things to your attention:

1) The games have worked perfectly in the past. No graphics issues at all. This was for about 4 months.
2) When I installed my replacement graphics card, the issue was identical. The issue also persists when I turn off my 2nd monitor.
3) What are the other equally important things that you mention?

Thank you in advance.

Can I ask that you do not quote every reply as I have to read the full post to make sure nothing gets missed,, thanks.

Your points 1 & 2 support the PSU being suspect, two GPUs, same PSU used with both GPUs and the problem persisting with the replacement GPU likewise suggests a PSU issue, fwiw, you can`t get even a half decent 550W Corsair for a few pence shy of £70 so just under £45 for the VS version tells you the difference in the quality of the internal components.

Regarding your point 3, you have multiple AVs installed which has resulted in Windows Defender being unable to update, see canned explanation below;

Antivirus
Total AV
Antivirus: Enabled
Virus Signature Database: Up to date
Windows Defender
Antivirus: Disabled
Virus Signature Database: Up to date
Total AV
Antivirus: Disabled
Virus Signature Database: Up to date

Having more than one AV or Firewall installed on your computer is bad, it will slow down the computer, cause internet connection problems and leave you with no AV protection at all if they cancel each other out as they fight for resources.

Windows 8, 8.1 and 10 come with an improved Windows Defender, it offers the same real-time anti-virus/anti-malware protection as Microsoft Security Essentials. Windows Defender also shares the same malware signature definitions as Microsoft Security Essentials, and Forefront Endpoint Protection. Technically, Microsoft Security Essentials has not been renamed Windows Defender, or combined with it in Windows 8, 8.1 and 10.

If any AV product that you have is a paid for version you should always make sure that you have a copy of the product key kept somewhere safe just in case you ever wish to reinstall it.

If you stick with only Windows Defender, once any other AV has been correctly uninstalled, check to see if Windows Defender has auto enabled and allow it to update and carry out a full scan of your computer.

Thanks again for the advice.

I have ensured that I only have one AV installed.

Regarding the graphics problem, I have consulted my provider on the PSU and they believe that it is sufficient so there is obviously some disagreement there.

I am struggling to believe that this is the issue myself. The PC runs games such as The Witcher 3 and NBA 2k20 perfectly. Also, as I have said before, the 3 games in question have run perfectly before themselves.

Is there anything else that I can check on the software side of things before I send my PC back to them for inspection? You clearly know more than I do but I do believe this to be a software issue.

You are welcome and you follow whoever s guidance that you see fit, do keep in mind though that we are trying to help you for free whereas your provider whoever they may be has a financial interest involved.

The best qualified person to comment on PSUs is Jonny Guru and he is less than flattering about the VS range of PSUs, see for yourself here where he advises that the VS 550 is not recommended for a GTX 1070 which requires less power than your RTX 2060 Super does, another thread on his own forums here regarding the VS 550 the reply #10 is most telling.

Before we do anything else we can have a new Speccy url

Hi Phil,
I have now upgraded my PSU to the CORSAIR 750W TXm SERIES™ SEMI-MODULAR 80 PLUS® GOLD, ULTRA QUIET model. My PC is fully functioning as it was but the problem with the 3 games still persists!!!
I am now at a complete loss as to what to do 🙁
Do you have any further suggestions?
Thank you in advance.

If I may but in...
Before we do anything else we can have a new Speccy url
If you have not already tried a different slot for the display card?
Have you tried the onboard display? You will need to remove the card to use this and if the system is capable of doing this.
If you play one of the games not online does the same issue arrive?
Have you tried different settings?

Any and what changes were made to the system?

Of course you may!

Here is the current speccy: http://speccy.piriform.com/results/nkaxQQw0EB7hlLtOpgVq4VZ

Any and what changes were made to the system?
If any changes were made, they were software updates I assume. I am not sure when or what the changes were.

If you have not already tried a different slot for the display card? There only seems to be one available...
Have you tried the onboard display? You will need to remove the card to use this and if the system is capable of doing this. I don't think the games would run on the onboard display would they?
If you play one of the games not online does the same issue arrive? Yes, same online and offline.
Have you tried different settings? I have tried lots and lots of different settings with no success.

This is your mother board correct?

According to the manual

Wont know unless you try you may have to lower some of the setting for the games and display

Have you tried uninstalling one of the games and reinstalling

Is the bottom of the motherboard touching any and or has have touched any part of the frame

there may have been an update that may be playing havoc with them

I have tried all of your suggestions. I have moved the GPU to the other slot. I tried to run the game without the GPU but it simply didn't start!

I have uninstalled all games and reinstalled.

Regarding your last suggestion, I have installed previous drivers and nothing has changed.

😢

Maybe it's just the game. Some issues might be software related and have othing to do with your hardware.
That's just how it is. Have you tried reinstalling windows?

I feel there must be more to it if 3 games have the exact same problem...

Happy to give this a go...If I reinstall Windows, is there a way to do it so I don't lose all my files.

I have just reinstalled Windows and the same visual flickering appears.

Do you have any other ideas?
