Solved Problems with MSI RTX 2070 Super

Hello,

I've recently built my first computer (Specs listed at the bottom) and have been experiencing some screen stuttering. When I restart my computer I often get a blue screen with a DRIVER_POWER_STATE_ERROR code. So I usually end up reinstalling my graphics drivers. This usually fixes the issue temporarily (for like a day or two). But I don't want to do this that often, I've even performed a clean install of the drivers a couple of times. If anyone knows a fix, it would be greatly appreciated.

Motherboard: MS - MPG X570 GAMING EDGE WIFI

CPU - AMD RYZEN 7 3700X

Power Supply - CORSAIR CX750M 750W 80 Plus Bronze ATX Power Supply

GPU - MSI - NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 Super 8GB GDDR6 PCI Express 3.0 Graphics Card

Boot Drive - Samsung - 970 EVO Plus 500GB Internal PCI Express 3.0 x4 (NVMe) Solid State Drive with V-NAND Technology

RAM - CORSAIR - VENGEANCE LPX Series 32GB (2PK 8GB) 3.0GHz DDR4

Running Windows 10

Start
Scroll Down and find Windows System and Click that
Now in that list select Control Panel
Look to the upper left and click on View By and change to Large
Now look for System and select that
On the left you should see where is says Advances System Settings click that
You will have a new windows come up select the Tab marked Devices
Clicked the Button for Device Installation Settings
Select NO
Click Save Changes
Click OK

Usually when I make changes like this I reboot go back and check to make sure that the changes stayed.

If they did them redo the reinstall of you display drivers after uninstalling them.
 
Thanks for the quick response. I gave that a try and everything seems to running well. That doesn't necessarily mean it's fixed though. Most of the time reinstalling the drivers fixes the issue for a day or two. So I'll keep you posted on whether or not that's a permanent fix.
 
I guess I spoke to soon, I started having some stuttering a couple of minutes ago, so I tried restarting. I ended up getting the same DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE Blue Screen Code. So I can already tell that didn't help.

The problem looks to be with the MBs chipset drivers, see attachment below, download the latest version from here if you already have this version installed, uninstall them and reinstall the ones from MSI.

Ok thanks for the response.

I'm working on installing the drivers, but am having some trouble. When uninstalling the loading bar gets stuck at 25%, but said the uninstall was successful.

So I tried Installing the newest drivers and a failure on the AMD PCI Device Driver Install. I tried twice and will send you the log file. I get and error code of 1603 from the driver install failure.
 
Error 1603 troubleshooting steps here

Something that I did not see on the AMD possible fix list, make sure that you are signed in as Admin and save the driver to the desktop, create a new system restore point, restart in Safe Mode only (No Networking) see if you are able to install the drivers.
 
Thanks, I think it was a corrupt Microsoft C++ file, I ended up uninstalling and reinstalling them. Then I my AMD PCI driver installed just fine.

I'm pretty sure my issues are fixed, I'll let you know if I see any issues in the next few days.
 
It worked for a bit. I shutdown my computer last night, and when I booted it up a little while ago I was experiencing stuttering again. And when I tried to restart. I got the same blue screen again. Here is the new Dump File.

After some troubleshooting to reinstall the chipset pci drivers. The issue started to occur again after about 24 hours. I got another blue screen this moring and I'm assuming the dump file will show the same problem as the last. I really appreciate the help and advice. Is there any possibility this is hardware issue, or is definitely a software problem.

Same drivers.

Did you do as was suggested in the attachment in my reply #16 and check to see if Windows had updated and changed the drivers that you had installed.
