Hi,

i wonder if someone can help please. I have the below PC specs, its my first PC build and I'm hoping I've done something wrong. i have built the PC but when i tried to power it on nothing happened. then i realised i may have plugged in the front panel connectors wrong. so i believe i have now arranged them correctly but when i go to power on the PC, it powers up for literally 1 second then dies. i have checked all the connectors to the best of my ability but cant see anything obviously wrong. should i take it apart and start again or is maybe my PSU not suitable?

Motherboard: ASUS prime A620M-K
GPU: Nvidia GTX 1080
RAM: Corsair vengeance DDR5 32GB (2X 16GB)
liquid cooling system: ID-COOLING FROSTFLOW X 280 CPU WATER COOLER (2 X 140MM PWN FANS)
PSU: COOLER MASTER, MASTERWATT 750
SSD: Samsung 980 pro
SSD: Kingston 1TB
HDD: 1TB Barracuda

I am unable to attached the 2 second video to show exactly what is happening

Golden rule of system building, always do a barebones set up outside of the case before assembling inside of the case, was this done and was it done on a large non conductive area such as large piece of cardboard or a wooden top table.

Missing from your list of parts;

What CPU do you have in the board.

( Is the CPU cooling fan connected to the CPU fan header which is located at the edge of the MB by the memory slots. )

What speed is the RAM.

maybe my PSU not suitable?

Cooler Master are not on the recommended list + any gaming type rig must have a minimum of a Gold efficiency rated PSU from one of the big four, Corsair RM or above range, EVGA, Seasonic or Super Flower, minimum of a seven year warranty period but preferably ten.

Tip, make sure that have a keyboard hooked up else the power on self test will fail.

Thanks Philip, yes the build was conducted on a wooden desk with the anti static bag underneath but ofcourse I can’t say for certain it was done in ideal conditions as this is my first PC build. My current CPU is a Ryzen 5 7600x

I’m regards to the water cooling system the pump connector is connected to the CPU fan at the top of the motherboard board and the fans from the radiator of the water cooling system is connected to the cha fan slot

Is everything still outside of the case.

Not a fan of liquid cooling so have no knowledge of it but the CPU fan header reads voltages and fan RPMs so not sure if is appropriate for a aio pump be attached to it, try reversing your fan connections, if the BIOS is not detecting RPMs from a cooling fan it will shutdown the board to protect the CPU from frying.

If you get going do not enable XMP as the RAM is not appropriate for your CPU, AMD state here up to 5200MHz/MT/s and if you have EXPO/XMP enabled the RAM will get auto OCd past what the CPU can handle and the PC will become unstable.

Don`t forget to have a keyboard hooked up and whatever you do don`t try booting from a drive that has Windows already on it, if you do. the BIOS will try and load the old MB drivers and the system will fall over.

Got to head out for some exercise so will be gone for an hour or so.
