Hello, recently I've been having issues with my computer. I usually use it to play games and haven't had problems with it for the four years since I've had it. I have a Samsung SSD, 32GB of Corsair vengeance ram, RTX 3080, I9 9900k, and an RM850 Corsair power supply. All these parts are connected to an MSI z390-a pro motherboard.

Now the first issue I noticed with my computer was that occasionally, regardless of what I was doing, the screen I was using would show artefact for a split second. I thought nothing of it, but after a few days, my taskbar and anything windows related froze. I waited and decided to turn my computer off. Then when I powered it back on, my computer displayed a black screen. I turned it off and on again to activate windows repair, but when I reached windows repair and left it running for 4 hours, it had made no progress in repairing the issue.

I decided to do a fresh install of windows 10 from a USB stick as I couldn't reinstall it using my OS on the computer. This fixed the issue, at the loss of all my data. Then a day later, my screen started to flicker again. Bare in mind after reinstalling windows, I had already done several full virus scans, including a few boot scans, which found no malware.

I then ran the commands in the command prompt "SFC /SCANNOW" (I also ran "DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth"), and it said my some of my windows files had been corrupted but had been restored. I kept rerunning the command daily, and every now and then, the SFC scan would say my windows files had been corrupted.

I decided to buy some new ram, but the same problems are emerging again. Last night I went to sleep, and when I woke up, I noticed I had left my pc on. Now it won't even load a boot menu or allow me to repair the computer. The PC's on, but I'm getting a black screen and no mouse cursor either.

Has anyone got a clue as to what the issue is here?

After the reinstall did you install the chipset and other drivers in the proper order?

So other can assist let get a speccy report.

What is the brand and model name or number of the PSU.

Download then run Speccy (free) and post the resultant url for us, details here, this will provide us with information about your computer hardware + any software that you have installed that may explain the present issue/s.

To publish a Speccy profile to the Web:

In Speccy, click File, and then click Publish Snapshot.

In the Publish Snapshot dialog box, click Yes to enable Speccy to proceed.

Speccy publishes the profile and displays a second Publish Snapshot. You can open the URL in your default browser, copy it to the clipboard, or close the dialog box.

Hi,

Have you updated your motherboards BIOS to the latest version? Are you overclocking any components? Does the computer freeze or show a black screen in Safe Mode? Have you installed and updated all the drivers for your hardware after you reinstalled Windows?
