Hi. Thank you in advance for reading. This is my first post and I appreciate your assistance. Please check the following video to see a problem I'm having since yesterday:

It's the third time it happens. The background is black because the screensaver was active (blank screensaver, actually. Black screen, but the monitor is on). On the two previous occasions, a video was playing and everything froze (including mouse pointer) behind that pattern. Sound was replaced by something similar to TV's white noise (no sound in the video because, again, nothing was playing when I recorded it). The problem is solved just by restarting Windows, but it may happen again at random. And since the mouse pointer is frozen when this happens, the only way to restart Windows is shutting down the PC with the power button and turn it on again.

Again, I appreciate your assistance. Thank you very much in advance.

Hi
To help with this we need a lot more information. If this is a brand name computer e.g HP,Dell etc we need make model and service tag if it has one.
If this is not a brand name we need as much info as possible. Motherboard make & model Power supply NOT 500W power supply make and model
Are you using a graphics card, cpu ram etc as much info on make and model you can give us

IT JUST HAPPENED AGAIN WHILE I WAS TYPYING MY REPLY! Here's the video I just recorded:

Can you go here and download speed fan and install Click On Me .
Run speed fan then click on the Exotics tab > show the magic. post a screen capture. To do a screen capture in Windows 10 press the windows key and the print screen button together. It will put the image in Pictures>Screenshots

Thank you again for your replies. Here are a picture of the power supply in my PC and the screenshot of the SpeedFan test result. Intel driver support doesn't report anything that needs to be updated. I also ran Memtest86+ tests and it didn't report any errors.

Can you power off the computer.
Remove the power cord.
Open the case and have a look for dust build up .
If you find it dusty try and clean the dust out. Be careful of static electricity and touch metal to earth yourself.
You have a slight problem.
The problem you have can be a bit heat related but more like video card or power supply failing.

Did this only start to happen?

Do you need Java - Please uninstall via control Panel it can be reinstalled after if needed
Are you comfortable in opening the computer ?

Thank you very much for your message, Bruce. Yes, I still need help. The thing is, I'm not confident at opening my computer to check the ram and motherboard. Hopefully my technician will be able to come home today. Still, any addiitonal advice for things to check to determine the culprit with certainty is welcome. Thank you one more time!

P.S.: The problem is still there, but its appearance is totally unpredictable. Yesterday, for instance, it showed up three times just after turning the computer on, but after the fourth restart the computer worked without any kind of problems for the rest of the day.

while the memory stick may actually be bad, more likely, it's just not compatible with your motherboard.

we'll leave this thread open for a couple more days to make sure your issue doesn't reappear. :)
