I just got a new Kingston Fury Renegade 64GB (2x32) 3600 CL18 kit of RAM. I didn't do my research beforehand and this was a bit of an impulse buy. It turns out the kit is not on my mobo's QVL, there ARE Kingston kits but not this particular kit. When first installing the RAM into both (I only have two) RAM slots I was getting a 0d code on my mobos debug led display. I tried a couple of times and everytime it gave me that code. I cleared the CMOS and installed one stick of RAM into one slot, I got the 0d code again so I installed it in the other slot and once again got the 0d code. So I tried the other stick and my pc booted up fine. I then tried both sticks again and got the 0d code, I then cleared the CMOS and tried again and it booted, but then a few seconds later I got a blue screen with no code it just said it's collecting info and would automatically restart, which it didn't. I had to hit the reset button. It then booted normally and took me into the BIOS where I enabled XMP-1 and that is where I'm at currently.

My issue and question is I don't know how stable this RAM config is going to be in the long run. I know I really should have checked the QVL but it didn't cross my mind until the RAM was already shipped. I know 2 good programs to use to test memeory is Aida64 and MemTest86, but which one would work best? Also how long should I run them, keeping in mind this is my only PC.

Unfortunately I can't really return this kit because I bought it off eBay. The seller does accept returns but I'm pretty sure that only applies to damaged or defective items. I thought maybe this kit was defective since at first it was only booting using one certain stick but I don't think it actually is. At worse I would probably have to just sell the kit and buy a kit that ACTUALLY is on my mobo's QVL but before I do that i want to see how stable this kit actually is and if I actually need to get rid of it.
Oh also I tried using the built in Windows Memory Diagnostic tool but after letting it sit and do it's thing for a half hour it wasn't actually doing anything, it was showing blank results for eta, what test of what test it was on and percentage completed. Also in terms of hardware:
Mobo: MSI MEG B550 Unify-X
CPU: Ryzen 9 5900X
GPU: ASUS TUF RTX 3080 10GB
and here is the specific RAM model number KF436C18RBK2/64

Hello

I know that the Mem Test 86 is time intensive..
I ran it last night while I was asleep just to discover when I woke up this morning that when I turned on my TV it said no input signal so I couldn't see the results. I hooked up a DP to HDMI adapter and ran it again and turned my TV off for 5 mins then back on and I get a signal. So I'm running it right now while I'm at work. I get home from work in 7hrs and I'll check on it.
I'm not sure if my TV losing signal was just a bug with the program or if there was maybe an error and that's what caused it to lose signal but I think it's just something wonky with my TV because I ran the program again hooked up to HDMI on my graphics card and turned the TV off then turned it back on again and it also said no input signal so I think it's just something to do with the HDMI on the graphics card not continuing that signal when the TV is turned off then turned back on again.

your cpu cannot handle the ram. https://www.amd.com/en/product/10461
If 1 stick works and 1 stick will not work = faulty ram. RMA for money back.
Also xmp is a form of overclocking which will help with causing problems.
You have to match ram to cpu and mb not just one of them.
That's what I was thinking too but then like I said it seems to be working fine now I am running memtest86 right now while I'm at work, I'm at work for another 7 hours so when I get home from work I'll see what that says. If it shows any errors then I will return it. I also found out that the seller does accept returns even if you just don't like the product so that's a good thing.
