Solved My PC Keeps freezing/crashing while gaming

32.0GB Dual-Channel Unknown @ 1066MHz (15-15-15-36)

Your RAM is running too slow for the CPU, go into the BIOS and manually set it to run at 2933MHz which according to the AMD specs here is the most appropriate speed.

Power Profile
Active power scheme: High performance

Change the Windows Power Plan to Balanced, High Performance is a form of overclocking that is known to cause stability and overheating issues and the setting should only be used for gaming type notebooks that have a discrete GPU that needs the extra power.

Test by using the computer as you normally would, post back with an update for us when you are ready.

What was the game and did you check the temperatures.

The following checks will need to be done twice with the first time being done as soon as Windows has booted after the PC has been disconnected from the power outlet overnight.

Download Speedfan and install it. Once it's installed, run the program and post here any information it shows, don`t worry if you do not get the same info though.

So that we have a comparison to Speedfan, download, run and grab a screenshot of HWMonitor (free).

To capture and post a screenshot;

Click on the ALT key + PRT SCR key..its on the top row..right hand side..now click on start...all programs...accessories...paint....left click in the white area ...press CTRL + V...click on file...click on save...save it to your desktop...name it something related to the screen your capturing... BE SURE TO SAVE IT AS A .JPG ...otherwise it may be to big to upload... after typing in any response you have... click on Attach file to add the screenshot.

Screenshot instructions are provided to assist those that may read this topic but are not yet aware of the “how to”.

The freezing happens on graphically 'heavy' games, (Red Dead Redemption 2, GTAV, DayZ etc), but I've also had it happen once or twice when opening Photoshop, but far less frequent (I think it only happened on Photoshop when I turned down voltages when trying to underclock).

With the exception of the DRAM voltage being marginally high everything looks good.

Only thing that we can do now is wait on the arrival of the new PSU I`m afraid.

Okay, thanks for the help so far, let's hope the PSU works some magic.

Those readings were with no programs running, do you want me to send the stats with a game running? I think temperature may be a likely culprit; I tested playing with the side panel off the case and I was able to play for slightly longer without a crash (might've just been coincidence).

I'll keep testing, and update you once I've got the new PSU in.

It was going to be suggested that you do some gaming, run the checks again and post new screenshots for us but the readings being what they should be I'm not sure it would be worthwhile, feel free to do so and we will take a look though.

NB: Reason for the above is because we cannot obtain any internal temp readings for the PSU which is the only suspect atm.

I don't want to rule anything else out yet, but I tried playing again with:

The front case cover removed
GPU fans manually set to 100% all of the time
An external fan pointed into the bottom of the case where the PSU is

And I've been playing for just over an hour now, promising? Maybe
