Hi - I've no idea how this happened, but suddenly my mouse pointer ceased to function on my second screen. Now it only functions on the laptop screen, and does so even if I maintain 'extend' (via Win key + P). On the other hand the mouse key continues to function if I first select 'Second Screen Only' (again via Win key + P). Also, anything that happens to be on the second screen now decamps to the laptop screen if I select 'PC Screen Only'. I am completely baffled and have no idea why it happened or what to do about. So any suggestions how to fix it would be greatly appreciated.

My Asus notebook laptop is running on Windows 8.1 Home Edition (with a Classic shell).

Hello

Please explain your dual screen setup in detail please.

@phillpower2 @Bruce @gus
Hi - It's ok now. I restarted the laptop this morning to find the mouse behaving itself once again - i.e. moving from one screen to the other. I can't be sure what caused the problem, except to say that it must have been due to a glitch of some kind. Anyway, all's well now.

Thanks.

yeah, i didn't respond yesterday due to never having heard of something like that happening.
should have chimed in with the trusty - "have you tried turning it off and on again" mantra.
