Hi, I am Brenyon and I have a burning question for my close friend Brenton about the Java client and applying it to .jars.

Hi, I am Brenyon. My friend, Brenton is currently having a issue opening .jar's using the Java client. Below I have listed two screenshots. One that Brenton took on his own PC, NOT mine. Another that shows When he hovers over the option "open with" on a .jar file while having Java the application already installed, the application does not show up as a viable option for opening it(the .jar). The red circle will be drawn around the Java (TM) Platform SE binary file that doesn't show up for Brenton like it does for me, or any other normal user. I will put that screenshot below that I took on MY PC. Copy and paste this link into google. My screenshot link: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1xAnXF_AHUVftLx0gD5q0RCWuOKLe4HuwKSqJecljtHY/edit?usp=sharing On the screenshot below, BRENTON took it on HIS PC, it clearly shows that even though Brenton has his newest version of the Java client installed, he cannot apply it as the default app for opening .Jar's. Please see screenshot below. If I get a valid response that works for Brenton, I will quickly and swiftly redirect the excellent responses I receive from you, to him (Brenton). Copy and paste this link to view the screenshot: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1JKKgWEZWB1IMSq6NGI4Rn9tRsdi1xf_wXViOViKRnyc/edit

We (Brenton and my self) surfed and searched every tuft and corner of all the generic "How to install Optifine for Minecraft Java" videos. As we were instructed to by the YouTubers we went through the installation process for Java, using their links and sites to download Java over and over and over again. Each time we uninstalled his previous version of Java before installing the next like some headless chicken. I will be listing the links of some of the YouTube videos Brenton and I used as our reference for properly installing Java:

Although, I just remembered that Brenton and I did not wait to watch till the end of the video (the second link video). If you watch that video, the YouTuber clearly states that there is a .Jar fix installer of some sort that I have not referred to Brenton! I will %100 have Brenton install this .Jar fix and keep you updated on whether or not it has resolved his Java issue.
