Hi everyone. I have someone building a pc for me with a variety of new and used parts. I’m fine with the risk associated with this - the guy has a 12 month replacement warranty etc, so all good. I have the choice of a 980, or for an extra $200 I can get a 1070. Money is a bit tight, so this is a bit steep for me, but possible if it’s a worthwhile jump in price. Can I please have opinions on whether it’s worth the extra $200, or if it would generally be unnoticed?
Background on the build: i7 6700, 16GB hyper x ddr4, 120gb ssd, 1tb HDD, motherboard - cant remember right now, 1000 psu gold 80+. With the 980 is $1400 (AUD), with the 1070 is $1600. I’m not using a proper gaming monitor, I’m using a 32inch Samsung led monitor, and will be using my pc for light gaming - just wow, sims, fortnite, COD, overwstch, and light photoshop and illustrator graphic design work.
Thanks in advance.
