Solved CPU EzDebug light on, need help.

Unfortunately I have run into a problem with my pc. While I was working in After Effects my pc suddenly froze completely. Then it shutted itself down and tried to reboot only for the CPU led to come on. I've had this custom build for 7 years now and have not encountered a problem like this before.

First I'll list my specs!

CPU: Ryzen 7 1700x
GPU: PNY 3060Ti 8GB
RAM: g.skil Ripjaws 4x8gb
MoBo: MSI Carbon Pro B350
PSU: Cooler Master GX 750w

OS: Windows 11

Before I'll say what I've tried myself there are some weird abnormalities. The PC sometimes does boot and when I log into windows it seems fine. Then when i launch a program or transfer a file the pc freezes, turns off the peripherals and goes black only for it to reboot with the CPU light on.

The PC sometimes tries to boot but during the splash screen of my motherboard it crashed for it to reboot again in Recovery mode.

So what I myself tried is the following:

- Reseat RAM
- Clear CMOS with jumper & battery
- Tried with 1 RAM stick or 2 sticks
- Tried with a new set of RAM sticks.
- Remove GPU and RAM
- Reseat the CPU
- Reseat the GPU

The first time I removed the GPU, RAM, CMOS battery. Then booted with no RAM or GPU only CPU and clear CMOS. Unfortunately my CPU does not have onboard graphics so the VGA light would turn on.

When I put the GPU back in and 1 more stick of RAM it booted until I plugged in my Keyboard, then it crashed again with CPU led on. I thought this maybe because of a faulty keyboard so I plugged in a spare and it seemd to work. After I cleared the CMOS the RAM was at 1866mhz with 16GB. Played some games, did some work and nothing crashed.

The next day I tried to put in my other 2 sticks of RAM and it happend again.. this time I tried the above steps again to no avail. Then I thought maybe it is because of my RAM. I swapped them for a new pair and tried again only for it now to crash with 2 sticks. And finally it now does not boot to windows and is in this weird loop of booting -> splash screen -> freeze -> CPU led -> Reboot..

Could this be because the PSU is dead? My CPU or Motherboard?

Was a decent PSU when released fourteen years ago but no way should it still be in use.

A minimum of a known good 650W gold efficiency rated PSU needs to be swapped in for testing purposes, just hope that the present PSU has not damaged your hardware.

Two things that I would do first, try borrowing a known good PSU that has the required spec and have someone test your GPU to make sure that it has not been damaged by the old and weak PSU.

So unfortunately you were right, the PSU fried the system.. had to replace the parts but I'm up and running again.
