Hi,
I recently upgraded most of my system and now I am getting random system crashes. In the windows event viewer I only see it marked as a "critical event" with the source "Kernel Power" which says that it could be because of the remove of power supply or that system hasnt been reacting anymore.
Sometimes I can game the whole day without a crash and sometimes it just happening every hour. Most of the time it is happening when I am gaming or when render a video or so. So I thought it could be that my power supply is not high enough but it also happened right after I restarded my computer after one of those crashes. So it cant really be because of that or? I updated BIOS and cpu and graphic drivers.

Has someone an idea what could be the reason?

System:

Mainboard:
ASUS Prime x670-P
CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 7950X
Power supply: bequiet straight power 11 - 650W
Memory: D532GB 5200-36 Trident Z5 RGB
Graphic Card: AMD Radeox RX 6600 XT
OS: Windows 11

I am not quite sure if I am missing something.
But in the end it just repeats "Waiting for SystemInfo"

How old is the PSU.

Have you made sure that all power cables are secure at each end and that the RAM and GPU are seated correctly.

Download then run Speccy (free) and post the resultant url for us, details here, this will provide us with information about your computer hardware + any software that you have installed that may explain the present issue/s.

To publish a Speccy profile to the Web:

In Speccy, click File, and then click Publish Snapshot.

In the Publish Snapshot dialog box, click Yes to enable Speccy to proceed.

Speccy publishes the profile and displays a second Publish Snapshot. You can open the URL in your default browser, copy it to the clipboard, or close the dialog box.

1. Copy any dmp files from C:\Windows\Minidump onto the desktop.
2. Select all of them, right-click on one, and click on Send To> New Compressed (zipped) Folder.
3. Upload the zip folder using the Attach button, bottom left of the dialogue input box

Looked at Speccy + the three latest dmps.

Speccy first;

Operating System
Windows 11 Home 64-bit
Computer type: Desktop
Installation Date: 13.01.2023 10:40:04

There are no system drivers shown to have been installed since Windows was, only GPU drivers were but done out of sequence.

Once Windows has been clean installed you must then install first the MBs chipset drivers, then the storage/SATA drivers and third the graphics drivers, the drivers can either come from a disk provided by the motherboard manufacturer or downloaded from their site and saved to a flash drive etc, this is a must and Windows should not be allowed to check for updates before it has been done as more often than not Windows installs the wrong drivers or in the incorrect order and this can cause all sorts of problems.

Power Profile
Active power scheme: top performance

Change the Windows Power Plan to Balanced, Ultra and High Performance are a form of overclocking that is known to cause stability and overheating issues, the setting should only be used for gaming type notebooks that have a discrete GPU that needs the extra power.

Two of the latest crash dmps point towards GPU drivers but until the system drivers have been correctly installed it is pointless addressing the GPU driver issue.

so I installed the chipset drivers and GPU drivers in the beginning but I might have restarded my PC before so Windows might have already updated some stuff...
A few days ago I even installed/deinstalled them again.

So what would you suggest me to do? Reinstalling windows? Or just delete all drivers and update them in the right order?

I tried to record a game while playing and the PC crashed after 3 mins ....

Explain what happened exactly.

Software such as Windows can crash and when it does crash you get a BSOD and when enabled a crash dmp is generated, programs or games when they crash can on occasion close to the desktop but the computer will still be 100% functional.

Hardware failure such as a weak power supply and/or overheating are not software related and when a computer for example suddenly turns off, freezes or the screen goes black etc the behaviour should be described as the "computer shut down unexpectedly" or froze etc and not as having crashed as the latter implies a software issue as opposed to an obvious hardware issue when described properly.

Having the correct info means that helpers will not be looking for a software issue when the problem is clearly hardware related.

Thats makes sense. Sorry!

So at this point it really only happens when I game some with with high graphics and CPU requirements or do stomething similar intense.

The following failures all happened plenty of times:

1. windows freez -> BSOD appears -> PC restarts
2. Game freez -> Game closes
3. Windows freez -> some weird sounds come from my PC "tse tse tse tse tse" (really fast) -> no BSOD -> pc shutsdown -> restart
*sometimes it just shutdown without this sound

I am sorry for not beeing clear from the beginning.

What I forgot to mention in the points in the last post is that sometimes my browser (Chrome) brings my whole PC to lag quite heavy.
Then I have to minimize it and open it again and everythings works again.

So I am little confused right now...
The driver date for my graphic cards in windows says 30.11.2022

1674309712352.png

but in this is the downloaded and installed version:

1674309753450.png

shouldnt that be the same date?

Can we have a new Speccy url, any new crash dmps and a MTB log, see below, I will look at the GPU drivers meanwhile.

Download MiniToolBox and save the file to the Desktop.

Close the browser and run the tool, check the following options;

List last 10 Event Viewer Errors
List Installed Programs
List Devices (Only Problems)
List Users, Partitions and Memory size

Click on Go.

Post the resulting log in your next reply for us if you will.

Your latest Speccy url shows that the only driver to have been installed was for the GPU eight days ago;

13.01.2023 9NZ1BJQN6BHL-AdvancedMicroDevicesInc-2.AMDRadeonSoftware
9NZ1BJQN6BHL - 1152921505695772366

Your crashes point towards memory corruption and problems with the chipset so incorrect driver installation is the most likely cause of your troubles.

No RAM info in Speccy, can you post a link to the exact RAM that you have.

Can I ask how you come to have OBS installed.

We asked for a link to your RAM

Not sure what happened to them then but fwiw it was done wrong in any event, as per my re[;y #7;

Using OBS for recording is ok but so you know, we do not assist with streaming related threads.

Tip
If using a computer and not a mobile phone, please avoid adding multiple posts while waiting for us to reply to your last, edit your last post to include anything that you wish to add, this will ensure nothing gets overlooked which can sometimes happen if a thread has more than one page
