SD Card read only Win 10

Continuing the discussion from About the Software Support category:

Long story short… trying to update firmware on camera from sd card. Using win 10.

SD card says read only so couldn’t format or copy to.
Tried command prompt as adim to clear readonly and then managed to copy to card.:grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Copied incorrect file as camera couldn’t load.

Tried to delete file and copy correct one, pc says write protected.
Went through above again, no joy. Wouldn’t format etc.
Formatted in camera ok.
File manager shows card empty, so formatted ok. Still read only.
Tried as admin, tried starting pc as admin, command promp etc as admin.
Still no joy.
Done above with several cards still read only!
Drive properties set to allow all.
Tried regedit to see correct file check storage device properties set 0.

Sorry to go on but why it did it once and not anymore.
Anyone any ideas please I spent all afternoon trying. Cheers

The card is OK.
Just tried a Kingston external card reader my Mrs uses on her laptop. Worked a treat first time!
The pc cd reader must be FUBAR. It played up the last few times but I never thought or needed to try a different one!
Camera now with the latest Firmware.
