    Moving to another state.

We will be moving from Pa. to Florida in about 6 weeks. I have about 2,000 emails on my computer. I am pretty sure they are actually on my computer because they are there when I open Outlook 2024. I do not need to download them every time I start the computer. I guess I can disconnect everything from the internet just to prove it to myself. Anyway, when I buy another computer in the future, and I have a different internet provider down in Florida is there an easy way to copy the 2,000 emails from my current computer to the new computer ?? Thanks, Mike

Do you have Outlook desktop, or do you access via a web browser and login from a Microsoft account?

Either way, when you move to Florida, obtain the new ISP and new email, you’ll simply create a new email account within Outlook and use it.
The old email account will still be there along with the old emails unless you delete it.

You do not have to delete the old to create the new.

If you wanted to go a step further and backup those emails, you would look for a file with the .pst extension.

Backup this file to whatever media you choose, the cloud, USB drive, etc.

Oh, and Welcome to Florida. I’m in Panama City Beach.

Thanks xrobwx71, for the reply. I have Microsoft 2024 installed on my computer as part of Microsoft Office 2024. I understand the above working with my same computer, but if I got a NEW computer, would this still work ??

What you need to do is export the email and contacts from the old computer.
Easy way is to export to a usb.
You then put the usb in the new computer and import.
As @xrobwx71 advised you then setup a new account with the new isp.

To export emails from Microsoft Outlook 2024, you can use the built-in import/export wizard. Navigate to File > Open & Export > Import/Export, then select “Export to a file” and choose the desired format, such as Outlook Data File (.pst). You can then select the specific folders you want to export and choose a location to save the .pst file
From ai. Which for once is basically correct.
