In order to edit PDF files (simple edit, no parcicular gimmicks), does one have to subscribe to Adobe premium or are there other softwares that can do simple editing to your knowledge? Thanks.

I have been using PDF-XChange Editor at work and at home for about a year. Even if you pay for it, it’s way cheaper than Adobe and it works.
At work we paid for the Adobe version, and they went up again, so I set out to find an alternative. I am very pleased.Comment

We lashed out at work and got the Adobe Acrobat full version, something like $AUD800 lifetime license.
Think the monthly subscription was around $30/month for the Pro, but the Standard is a lot cheaper and would be all you require.
But as you would have discovered, there are a plethora of choices available.Comment
