Hello!
I’ve had my pc for just a couple of months now but the performance had dropped significantly from when I first got it. For most games it’s struggling to even stay above 60/70 FPS and this is hurting my enjoyment of gaming quite a bit. Is there anyone willing/able to help me figure out what the problem is?
Sorry but you have post on a tech forum asking for help but have provided zero information about your computer or it`s hardware, this makes it impossible for anyone to even hazard a guess as to what is going on.
Is the computer a custom build or brand name such as Dell or HP, if a brand name, provide the model name or series number (not serial) if a custom build post the brand and model name or number for the CPU, MB, the RAM ( including the amount, number of sticks and speed ) add on video card if one is used and the PSU (power supply unit) providing these details will enable folk to better help you.
Posting a list of any games that you have issues with will also be helpful.
I am sorry I am quite new to pc’s. I bought a prebuilt MSI pc with a Geforce RTX 4060, Intel I5-12400F and 32gb RAM 2 sticks at 3200MHZ
Games with Issues is pretty much any game. I mostly play F1 24 with a lot of stuttering, Destiny 2 with horrible framdrops and unable to get any higher than 70fps, Euro truck sim at some places not even higher than 40 fps
You have adequate spec hardware which would normally rule that out but can I ask what power supply you have, brand and model name or number is needed, can you also do the below;
Tell us if the problem is when you play offline or is it only with multi player;
Download then run Speccy ( free ) and post the resultant url for us, details here, this will provide us with information about your computer hardware + any software that you have installed that may explain the present issue/s.
To publish a Speccy profile to the Web:
In Speccy, click File, and then click Publish Snapshot.
In the Publish Snapshot dialog box, click Yes to enable Speccy to proceed.
Speccy publishes the profile and displays a second Publish Snapshot. You can open the URL in your default browser, copy it to the clipboard, or close the dialog box.
You have a couple of things going on there but for now I will mention the most important;

for power supply i’m using MSI MAG A500DN,
They have cheaped out on the power supply and so much so that they have gone below what they state here as being the 550W minimum requirement for their own GPU.
The present PSU is not even Bronze efficiency rated but is labelled as 500W when MSI state here on their PSUs info label that the PSU can only produce 456W, to confirm how poor the PSU is go here where you will find the PSU rated as being – Tier C • Low-end
Based on the GPU that you have even if the present PSU was a Gold efficiency rated supply from a proven brand it would be almost 100W short of what the GPU requires, add to the fact that you have an additional screen hooked up + various USB devices I would recommend a minimum of a 650W Gold efficiency rated PSU from one of the big four, Corsair RM range, EVGA, Seasonic or Super Flower, seven year warranty period minimum but preferably ten.
Addressing the weak PSU is your first concern here as it it is slowly but surely damaging your hardware and could brick it at any time.
