I can’t seem to find a way to get Sticky Notes to open when I power on my PC. I checked the list of startup apps and it isn’t on the list nor is there a way to add it to the list. I checked within Settings>Apps>Startup Apps and I also checked within the startup apps window in Task manager. I also tried to see if there was a way to do it within the Sticky Notes app settings but there is nothing in the app settings that allows this. I’ve been having this problem basically since I started using Windows 11.

you have to leave the sticky note open on the desktop.
that way it’ll be there when you reboot.

I’ve been leaving it open, the main notes i want to stay, yet it still doesn’t leave it open. I think Windows is automatically closing it at shutdown becuase I notice when I shutdown during the shutting down dialogue process it always says “this program is preventing shutdown” but it eventually shuts down a few seconds later, so I think it’s actually closing Sticky Notes. Also maybe the problem could be that i don’t have fastboot enabled so I think becuase of that maybe Windows is totally closing all programs?Comment

hmmm… had a pay with it and yes, it no longer stays on the desktop after a reboot.
I was only using it maybe 6 months ago and it was working then.
perhaps I was still on Win10 then, now Win11.
the only way I see it working now is the whack a shortcut to it on the StartUp folder.

It’s not letting me drag Sticky Notes to the Startup folder, from the Start menu or from my Taskbar. I tried creating a shortcut in the Startup Folder but I have no idea where Sticky Notes is located. I Googled it and tried a couple different paths but I’m not finding it in the paths where it’s supposed to be located. I can’t even drag it from the start menu to my desktop to create a shortcut. I know usually you can right click a short cut or program and go to the programs location but it doesn’t give me that option. It’s starting to **** me off, it’s like Microsoft doesn’t want people to know where it’s located. I’m going to try posting on the Microsoft forum and see if one of their “experts” can tell me where the heck it is located.Comment

just tried it on a Win10 PC, still works as you’re used to on it.

Yes, it seems that way. So far only one reply on the Microsoft support forum and it was a guy saying to just put my PC on Hibernate instead of shutting it down, lol. I replied that that wouldn’t work for me. I’m going to give Microsoft chat support a try, they have been pretty good in the past. I’ll update this and let you know.Comment

it is now working. The Microsoft tech, which I should have thought of this although I shouldn’t have had too, selected the fix, reset, and then uninstalled options and reinstalled sticky notes. They still weren’t opening when my PC booted but after doing all that we were finally able to drag the app into the startup apps folder and now it works. I’m thinking something got messed up when I upgraded from Windows 10 to Windows 11, yet another reason why a clean install is better then just installing over a older version. Honestly if it wasn’t such a pain in the butt I’d do a clean install right now but I don’t want to deal with the hours of having to redownload and install all of my third party programs.Comment

OK, good to know.
Sticky Notes doesn’t keep your notes open after a reboot but a workaround is to manually put the app into the startup folder. (y)
